My Favorite Supers in Fighting Games

Trying my best to stick to just the best of the best because otherwise this list would be wayyyyyy too long.
Somewhat ordered? Idk, I'm trying not to think too much about the placement.

Guilty Gear: Strive
Guilty Gear: Strive
Potemkin: Heavenly Potemkin Buster

https://youtu.be/sUdE0D4dO6E?t=2

Winning a round by predicting an airdash and hitting them with this gorgeous command grab is the most dopamine inducing thing in human history.
The King of Fighters 2002
The King of Fighters 2002
Iori - Maiden Masher / Wolf Bloom

https://youtu.be/TZgGIzqdoN8?t=249

Supers cancelling into other supers will always be hype, especially when they start with the forever iconic barrage of Maiden Masher and finish it off with the maniac deranged laugh of Wolf Bloom.
Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2
Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2
Answer - Instant Kill

https://youtu.be/39AT4aHKomE?t=294

The best looking one from the great gallery of instakills in Xrd, there's a real Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm PS2 vibe coming from it that I'm all here for.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future
Dio - Tokiyo-tomare!

https://youtu.be/CamPXxfl7Lw

Not that good in practice but the idea of a super that completely stops time and enables legendary flashy combos such as these one is just beyond cool even if it means its 90% for show, because the show is just that damn good.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Phoenix Wright - The Ace Attorney

https://youtu.be/4_CWmdmYkiQ?t=685

Phoenix Wright leaks your dm's and it kills you out of cringe, makes no sense but it also does given the character, I really dig how they adapted him in the Marvel series.
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Urien: Aegis Reflector

https://youtu.be/gWpwrmzX8QE?t=264

Its my Mr Button Clicking Jones of a super everytime I get a knockdown near the corner, stupidly fun and insanely versatile to play around, even if less on the flash side as far as supers go, if you play Urien I bet this is 90% of the reason why you sticked with him.
Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2
Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2
Faust - Stimulating Fists of Annihilation

https://youtu.be/DlHDQkv9_vg?t=373

There's no secret here, its just le funny fingers in the ass super, I really like how characters react to it and the fact that there's not only multiple outcomes, but also "counterplay", is what elevates this one to a favorite status.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Doctor Doom - Doom Time

https://youtu.be/4_CWmdmYkiQ?t=1225

Fucker just sits in a goofy ass gaming chair and watches you die for 4 seconds until he gets BORED, its so good, Doom is really just HIM in Marvel 3...
Injustice 2
Injustice 2
Flash - Speed Zone

https://youtu.be/EzD8jJwylYY

Incredibly stupid, he goes back in time and punches you in the sphinx for no reason, then goes back further and pisses off a dinosaur yet again for no reason, then goes back in time creating a time-loop-thing and punches you with yourself. Also that alternate version of the flash that is there drags your other version meaning the combo actually keeps going for your alt version.
Samurai Shodown V Special
Samurai Shodown V Special
Hanzo - Sealed Scroll: Shadow Particle

https://youtu.be/ZKj61x5Syzs?t=35

The definitive "fatality" for Samsho, given how more resourceful and less focused on the use of the blade for Hanzo, this weapon flipping technique makes sure your opponent has nothing left to fight, while possibly leaving them to agonize on the spot instead of dying, classy and flashy.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars
PTX-40A - Shoulder Arsenal

https://youtu.be/uQDYCP-6Fk4?t=835

A cinematic interactive super meant to be used as a neutral tool is an extremely interesting idea, you can change it to confuse your enemies with 3 different sets of actions, that forces your opponent to try to guess and punish in their downtime due to how much cheap it deals, and if you hit it all, its the single most damaging super in the entire game.
Ultra Street Fighter IV
Ultra Street Fighter IV
Ryu - Shin Shoryuken

https://youtu.be/_2bv6k3cjrc

The best encapsulation of what 4 was going for in regards to the black Ink aesthetic over exaggerated 3D models, the camera angles, the complete silence of the soundtrack, the slowdown, the goofy ass pose the opponent makes while at it, it not only fits so well, but feels much more impactful than any other DP super I have ever seen.
Skullgirls
Skullgirls
Peacock - Goodfellas

https://youtu.be/jAHDkHwLW6I

Weird fucking things gang up on you and then you explode at the end, just great. Big fan of that small 8ball with a comically large bat in particular, love that one.
Samurai Shodown
Samurai Shodown
Shizumaru - Hurricane Shredder Slash

https://youtu.be/sWFA5LIk5KA?t=565

One of the reasons to why I like the exaggerated use of blood in Samsho when compared to the ones in MK is that I feel like a lot of the time, they have a purpose beyond realistic gore attempts meant to traumatize the people working in it, and nothing better uses violence as a means of storytelling than with this super.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Luigi - Negative Zone

https://youtu.be/v0J9qZdVb-8?t=137

Its so good, and weird, that it was actually the turning point for me to actually give Luigi's Mansion a shot eventually, and yeah it fits the character, somewhat.

Heavenly Potemkin Buster 💪💪💪💪

I play Urien with about 60% of the reasoning being Aegis Reflector, others are because of Chariot Tackle (which combines with Aegis for my all-time high) and getting to pretend I'm Gill outside of XCOPY in single player.

The funny wok super grapple by the chef guy from Chaos Code would probably still end up on my nonexistent list.
