I thought the original couldn't be topped, but this was extraordinary. Wowee-zowee.

Some juicy puzzles! Would have liked a few more, as it seemed to end quite abruptly.

Wonderfully written, but once you realise that the impact of your choices is limited, the game loses a bit of lustre.

A shaky starting point for a wonderful franchise. The combat and levelling up systems are janky and very difficult to master (my god, what was that boss fight in the funeral all about?!) but the irresistible Yakuza charm kept me playing!

This hurt my brain but damn the snake is cute.

Nothing mind-blowing, but a cute way to pass a few hours.

I loved the concept, I just wanted to feel like my choices had a greater sense of impact in the wider game-world.

2019

Bizarre - sometimes in a good way. I appreciate the ambition of creating FMV titles, but the mystery didn't feel particularly compelling.

A silly, camp romp through Spira. Gave me big 'Man, I Feel Like a Woman' energy.

One of the best Pokémon games released in a bloody long time. Made me like Bidoof.

A lot gayer than I expected (definitely not complaining)

Ben Babbitt's soundtrack for this game is sublime - worth playing for that alone.
