Pretty substandard from a triple-a sports game perspective, but Gauntlet mode is a weird amount of fun. Really the only thing that justifies this game besides the specific roster, but it's a damn good justification.

a full-price tech demo for technology that had largely already been in market for over a decade prior (from the same company, no less!) with stylings that basically desperately scream "are we having fun yet?!?" every five minutes. there is some degree of worth in some of the games, but then, at this price and with the depth of the party game market at the time...why would you bother?

overwhelmingly hectic and in need of some polish, but still honestly pretty fun. in a genre where so many are desperately afraid of reinventing the wheel, the finals at least tries. to what degree of success it all melds together is subjective, but there's more than enough here that it should (rightfully) stay going for quite a while
