Co-op with my friend. We were stuck on the final boss fight for two play sessions due to bugs but we did finally end up completing it. To say this soured my view on the game is to say the least.

Wanted to like this but queuing with friends is awful and crashed more than once. Not to mention fighter selection is heavily limited. It feels right on the edge of being something fun and enjoyable but doesn't reach such heights due to lack of support on both ends.

Fun enough. Powering through the career to get currency for cars for online races doesn't feel tedious. Enjoyable with friends which is the reason I downloaded it begin with.

Never reviewed this. It's Call of Duty. Campaign was solid but I'm someone who always plays the story and somewhat enjoys them. I liked the dialogue choice mechanic. It still feels like there's not much of a challenge from a gameplay perspective and it's a little uninteresting. I think CoD needs to do a full 180° and try something different. More on that below.
Multiplayer in the first half of the year was lots of fun. I enjoy Treyarch's movement a bunch. Second half of the year camping, head glitchin, and all the regular CoD bullshit began. It'll only get worse now that Vanguard is out. Still will place top of the lobby 95% of the time.
Personally I think CoD need to bring something fully fresh to the series. Don't hate me for saying this but something like The Division, the latest Ghost Recon titles, and even probably Far Cry. Open world CoD where you have a guiding hand for the story but can do plenty of side or optional missions like Cold War tested the waters with and marked areas to jump into a multiplayer lobby (multiplayer is still accessible on it's own). Will this happen? No. CoD will remain CoD until numbers drop so low they have to rethink the formula because they certainly are not dropping the brand.

Edit 01 (11h, Game Pass): Joining up with friends online is horrendous. When connecting one of us either dropped or was unable to load in. I even had constant popups saying there was a network issue on mine end despite my internet being well more than stable. When we eventually loaded in the minimap is terrible a identifying where your friends are thus making you rely on the main map. This makes world traversal a nightmare and the only reliable means of playing with your friends is to do races which ultimately are unsatisfying.

Original (3/5):
TLDR: If you like Forza you'll like this.

Super early thoughts (4h, Game Pass) of someone who's slowly playing racing games again: It's fine. The visuals are stunning and the open world is fantastic. I love just driving around going anywhere and finding something pretty to look at. Having just come from playing Dirt 5 the cars feel super light comparatively. This is even more noticeable in the shared cars between the two games. I'm not a fan of this lighter feel but it's not game breaking and with a adjustment period should be a non issue. I am however not a fan of the strict checkpoints in races. I understand why they're there so maybe strict checkpoints isn't the right term but I'm just not a fan of them. This leaves me being frustrated not wanting to play the built races. Maybe I'll come around on this in my play sessions during the week before I clear it for space.
The community liveries are amazing and that's something I'll miss after leaving the game.

It's a bad game but catch me playing it daily.

Car soccer where the only challenging players are found in comp queues. Randoms are ass but are serviceable if you're trying to vibe to Spotify with no game audio in casuals. Sometimes they're alright in trios but unless you want to yell at afkers or just bad players you're better off getting another friend to join.

Story is pretty solid. MP gameplay is top tier. Needs much better customization though.

So I beat the game finally. Took me 4 years on and off but it's done. The open world was a nice idea but it's too large and doesn't allow for players to streamline the story cause of the leveling system. Not looking forward to Odyssey and Valhalla for that reason.

Largely forgettable story that's spread too thin, thank open world, and ends abruptly. Modern day was a bit better than Origins.

Lots of fun. Highly recommend.

I could see some people getting really into unique designs but it just isn't for me.
