great setting, masterful attention to detail in the world, good story, interesting characters, wonderful atmosphere, diverting side stories and minigames....shame about that core combat though

Mostly pretty fun and atmospheric - the bosses, especially a select few were mostly a chore because Samus still controls awkwardly like in Super Metroid and fast combat is a much bigger focus. Also, the game locks you out of exploring at a crucial juncture which, along with a boss fight I found tedious and required many attempts, soured me on the final hour.
