Nine Sols
When your premise is "Hollow Knight meets Sekiro" you are really setting yourself for disappointment... Well, they were up to expectations. That's it, that's the analysis. I can't say anything better than this.
This game feels amazing. Combat is so satisfying, so that you feel the progression, not through the skill tree, but through how you start mastering the parry system, being in sync with the game. Doing backtracking and seeing how much you have improved is rewarding.
Outside the final boss, which has an exponential difficulty increase, and has taken me several days to master, it always feels fair. Every attempt to a boss is better than the previous one.
If you add to a polished combat a beautiful art, interesting setup, and a world that, even though is simpler than Hollownest, has enough variations to be interesting.
Strongly recommended, more so while we have our clown wig waiting for Silksong.
