Rating this behind any other Arkane game is an act of cowardice and I will not be explaining myself. No other studio is designing levels like this, writing worlds like this, crafting sandboxes like this. And you fuckers still find time in the day to bitch about the chaos system. Well they removed it in the spin-off and subsequently vacuumed out all the fucks I gave. But this is wonderful.

The ending is a very subversive section that makes great use of player agency, which is exactly what I think cinematic games tend to forget. Be a game, not a film, and be stronger for it - they remembered this and won the hearts of a generation (a generation of losers but a generation nonetheless).

The rest is mechanically competent and acted at an above average level for a video game. It's good but they would go on to do far better.
