i dont think this guy is even a real fox

Toby Fox is a talentless hack and the sooner you realize this, the better

My favorite video game of all time isn't finished yet.

completely perfect and i am so mad that i decided to play so long after chapter two but before three comes out

pre-emptive 5-star rating because toby g. fox couldn't get me to change that even if chapter 6 had my full home address, social security, and credit card number on its title screen.
once the game is finished, i will review it properly, but i don't imagine my thoughts will ever change on this masterpiece.

Chapter 3-5? "We will be there." Chapter 6-7? "We will be there, we will be there."

NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A BIG SHOT

Toby Fox Is Probably Gonna Release Chapter 3 In The Year 2169

Fun game, cool characters, decent gameplay. Felt like Undertale but better

Everything about this is perfect. Gameplay? Perfect. Story? Perfect. Characters? Perfect. Art? perfect. Music? perfect. I cannot wait until it's finished.

I didn't expect this, but I can't stop thinking about this game. Went back to finally do an Undertale Genocide Run to see if I was just completely wrong being so lukewarm on that game, but there's so many ways Deltarune takes the good ideas Fox had for that game and expands on them to really reveal their potential. First, the silent protagonist finally gets a personality through cutscenes, through the music, through how the other characters feel about them. The new Tension Points and party system for ACTing make fights/encounters feel like there's so much more depth to replay. I really appreciate games released in chunks when they take advantage of the time spent between update waits, and so far it feels like Deltarune might be doing that.

The narrative here is structured similarly to OMORI, but I think it succeeds more than that game did in "fantasy" environments actually providing some kind of insight into the characters being controlled, where that game was largely only about fantasy as avoidance. So, yeah I'm super on board and I hope this manages to become Fox's masterpiece. Even if it doesn't turn out so good, this is probably the most I've gotten out of free game.

AS OF CHAPTER 2: I like it more than Undertale, the character writing is a bit sharper, gameplay is a lot more fun due to actual battle strategy being featured.

(presumably) 2/7ths of this game are out and yet somehow it's already the greatest video game ever. funny how that works. god bless you little white dog

That’s it?
“You, the player, are gay?”
That’s the ending Toby Fraud hyped up for seven chapters straight?

Susie is gay. That's a problem. How can a dinosaur be gay? If the church denies dinosaurs, and they also denounce homosexuality does that make it a positive or just a double negative. Pope please canonize this game so the problem is resolved.

When this is done it'll likely be the third game in my top 10 that can be abbreviated to "DR"

cherish it while it lasts, because once it's finished there will never be another video game even close to as good as this

If I had a nickel for every indie game released in the last few years that had expansive DLC where the final boss was a Punch-Out!! match, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice.

The full game isn't even out yet and it's still my favorite piece of art/media ever created.

to me this is just undertale but worst

I didn’t really enjoy undertale, it was ok but it got boring kind of fast. What kept me going were some characters I really liked like mettaton or papyrus, but I don’t really like anyone here. Susie is ok, but they’re all pretty lame.

Again I get why people like this, it’s just not for me

Most games on here are ones that I'll tell my grandkids about but this is one that I'm looking forward to them telling me about after I'm too decrepit to play chapter seven on release.

Do you just have that one game that isn't even complete yet you know that it WILL be one of your favorites of all time?

Eh, I don't really have one. (I spent 165hrs on Ch. 1&2)

One of the most hype games of the decade. Undertale was already a masterpiece but I got a feeling that this game will just keep building and building until it finally wraps up or I die of hype. I love every character. I love every song. I love every battle. This gave us the god damn Spamton Value Network baby!!!! I’m hungry for more. The lore is sweet and crisp and the details are finer then each brush stroke on the Mona Lisa. My emotions are so sharp they could cut diamonds. IM READY TOBY IM FUCKING READY GIVE IT TO ME RAW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Literally the only thing preventing me from giving this game 5 stars is the fact that it's not finished.

a mute, a goat boy and dragon lesbian walk between fiction and reality

To date, this is my favorite game ever, the experience of playing this after playing Undertale is very satisfying.
I think it's a great game by it's own, and the connection it has with Undertale only makes it better, right now, only two chapters have come out, I can't wait to play the rest of the game to experience more of Toby fox's great music, writing, designs and stories.
10/10
