An evolution in fighting game story I really fucking enjoyed. Understands at a very deep level how to write fighting game characters in a way that makes just about all of them endearing, including non-playable side characters. I mean, in what other fighting game are you gonna say the non-playable side characters are some of your favorites? (In this case, the awe-striking visage of Justice as she's reborn in this game, the first on-screen appearance in the series of That Man, and the re-appearance of our favorite lil guy, Dr. Paradigm. Oh, and the Magehound, what a sweet dog).
Genuinely, the first time I've been emotionally moved by a fighting game, too? I loved Ramlethal, Elphelt, and Sin's interactions so much they moved me to tears three separate times throughout the storyline, alongside some extra tears saved for the backstory between our main protagonist Sol Badguy and That Man. I'm not gonna pretend crying's the only form of emotional reaction you can have to a story, though. The game's also got some hype as fuck scenes that, even though the storyline rendered them non-playable, I was so extremely impressed by that I felt like just clicking the a to advance button like a VN made me part of such an event. Pretty cool game to play, too, find myself mainly playing Elphelt and Sin, they're really fun.

No geral é bastante divertido.

A good game in it's own right, even if I'm sure its been made obsolete for a while now.
The story of this game is fantastic. Not only is there bits of story in the arcade mode, but an entire story mode comprised of cutscenes, basically functioning as a movie split into chapters. The arcade mode basically functions as a prologue, with the real meat being the story mode, which is wonderful. The animation may not be the best, and there may be little fights, but it all is worth it through the writing. I didn't expect it being as good as it was, and it all has me excited for the next portion of this story.
The gameplay is pretty similar to the last games, with some slight alterations, tweaks to movesets, and new characters. Many characters were cut, however, which makes me wonder if I can consider this game greater than Accent Core +R. With the game being made in Unreal Engine 3, it means the addition of a whole new dimension! Although it's still a 2d fighter, the addition of the game being made in 3d makes hits like Overdrives and story-related sequences all the more impactful. Visually it looks nice and the cel-shaded graphics gives a whole new life to the world. This alone would make playing the game worth it, even if it doesn't have as much content than the previous game. It plays nice.
It doesn't really need saying at this point, but the game's music is great. Every character was given new themes, and there are a number of vocal tracks that play during the story mode. However, my favorite song would be the arcade mode credits theme, Lily. It's a wonderful listen.
I really enjoyed going through this game, especially the story of it. Even though I deleted the game as soon as I finished it, I'll still be thinking about it as I play through the final two games!
