This is the first game i'm playing on my journey through all those fighting games i neglected. I'm glad the first one is a game as good as this. Being honest, i always had a wrong impression about Doujin, i thought they were all cheap-ass games made for a niche of insanely hardcore fighting games players, Akatsuki is neither cheap nor hardcore, it's perfect.
Akatsuki Blitzkampf is easy to learn, full of personality and most importantly: fun to play. I spent at least 30 minutes on the Training Mode before getting into Arcade and i was already having fun as hell just doing my own combos, but that's strange... i'm not that type of training mode guy, that means this game is already doing something right? I beated the story mode 3 times already using just the protagonist and i can indeed say this game was doing not something, but everything right. From peak character design to non-stop bangers and a lot fun movesets, this game offers everything you'd expect a good fighting game to have. The only thing that i couldn't enjoy of this game is the story because it's a skill issue of mine but unfourtunately, i can't read Japanese.
Also, noob tip: don't play Normal, play it on Hard. Fighting agains't Normal CPU feels like training mode, they just get stuck on the corner getting comboed to death. Trust me on this one, this tip is coming from a certified noob.

This is really the best simple fighting game I've ever played. The gameplay isn't all that hard to comprehend and it's really fun. Very pick up and play friendly. Which makes it a shame there isn't too many ways to play this game. I would genuinely recommend this to newcomers of the genre. Akatsuki also has the most unique aesthetic I've ever seen in a fighting game. There really isn't anything quite like it. Go play this game if you haven't it's on Fightcade now.
A solid 2D fighter that’s easy to get into, with a cast of characters with great designs and good variety. It’s mainly footsies based much like Street Fighter, however there is a larger focus on aerial attacks and combos much like in an Anime fighter like Under Night (which the main character of the game, Akatsuki, makes a guest appearance in) The lore and main story of the game might not be the best or most engaging , but they do well enough in making the player want to play all the characters and get all the Arcade Mode endings. This doujin fighter still stands the test of time, even while competing with its successors (Ausf. Asche and EN-Eins Perfektewelt)
