It was a good/fun little game for it's time. 3 out of 5 stars for me.

A really fun third-person shooter where you play as the classic green army men fighting in their endless war against the Tan army! Many of the levels are constructed from things you'd often find in toy chests or even hanging around the house in general.

One level even takes place in a Fridge!

The writing and the humour in this is amazing! Most of the characters are voiced by Jim Cummings, a fantastic and skilled voice actor who has covered many games, TV shows, ect.

You have to track down many of Sarge's fellow officers and rescue them. They all have different abilities that have their uses such as the minesweeper who can detect and disarm mines, the heavy weapon specialist, the demolitions expert and more!

It was a lot of fun to visit this game as I had never really played these games before and this was a welcome introduction into the series. Jim Cummings as Plastro is so hilarious too!

It's not good, but I liked it so much I wrote my first fan fic based on it.

This game is very nostalgic to me and my brothers. We played this a lot on the Nintendo 64. The controllers can be tank-like but I still enjoyed this game as a kid. If you were a fan of army men toys as kid like I was, you might like this one. The music was good too, and the multiplayer was basic but very fun to play. The story mode is okay but they are some maps that have very annoying spots for foes. Also there are times where the auto aim does more harm than good and I did not like the minefield parts.

i liked this game when i was a kid ngl

That melting plastic still makes me smile. I think everyone who likes this game can acknowledge that it really isn't very good, but there's just something so endearing about little plastic men getting mutilated. Best ever use of a flamethrower in a game.

Vikki was my first crush. Also the soundtrack in Sarge's heroes 1 and 2 is fantastic.

I would love to see a remaster of this game at some point, I think the level design is really great and when everything clicks it's a lot of fun. However, the singlestick N64 controls are awful and tanky. Performance is pretty mediocre as well, lots of frame drops when there are lots of soldiers on screen or water effects. The aim assist could also be better. Desperately needs some checkpoints too, you're fighting the game more than the enemies.

As a child this game was fun but boy was it rough. I think the thing that saves it is the setting. Still have images of grey soldiers being turned into spiders seared into my brain because of how terrifying that concept is.

It's a big world out there. Most of it's really not that interesting.

when i was 11 i rented this game from blockbuster and my dad made me return it because it was too violent

me, 7 or 8 years old: hahaha war! cool!

you ever have those moments as a kid where you play a game and go "woah... these graphics looks so good..." and it changes your life? this was the first game that did it for me because i thought the army men looked like perfect digital recreations of plastic army men.

listen
when you're a kid, and your dad has all of these video games that he plays
you're probably going to also play them too!
and, in hindsight...
my dad had shit taste!
this game doesn't even have JUMPING working right!
while we're at it, zoom waaaaaay out on the box art.
which one's the girl?
the only reason this game doesn't get an even 1 star is because i was a stupid kid and recall some parts of this game not being excruciatingly bad. some scenarios aren't the worst shit i've ever seen.
but oh man. if you have a nintendo 64 for some reason, you have so many better shooters to play. why do you have a cartridge for this, anyway.

I don't N64 Controls are very nice to this game, but playing it with others is pretty damn enjoyable, plus the levels can be rather unique with the real life settings being gigantic bathrooms and living rooms.

To Sarge and his brave men, thank you for your service.
