A refined fast-paced platformer adjacent to the challenging sub-genre defined by Super Meat Boy. The levels are nowhere near as demanding as the aforementioned title, but present a moderate challenge with super smooth platforming and excellent feeling controls. The cherry on top is the vibrant pixel art and excellent electronic soundtrack.

Simple, short and fun. But I must complement the pixel art. It's really good. Though, it's a short game if you didnt know. For me it's not an issue but for someone els may be. It's not higher because it's not incredible you know.
It's just good :) Play it if you like platformers

jogo barato, curto, desafiador e muito divertido

Bzzzt is fuckin class

short and extremely sweet

it is gorgeous

tight platforming, great tunes, and the trophy time challenges are balanced just right

Bzzzt is fuckin class

Excelente!!

Game #124: Bzzzt

I found this game on Twitter and followed it for a year. After its release I had to give Bzzzt a chance and after completion, I can say: This is a good game. Great pixel art, good controls and 1-2 hours of time required to complete. Bzzzt is nothing crazy but it's worth your time.

A pleasant surprise.
When I first saw this game, I thought it would be something like ElecHead (especially considering it is called Bzzzt).
But instead of a puzzle platformer, it was structurally akin to something like Celeste.
The controls are snappy and really responsive. The game would have benefitted more from having more mechanics and varied level design, but it was a nice effort for a debut indie game.
The pixel art is gorgeous, and I also liked how the player character took little screen space, which made the levels easier to look at and comprehend, although it is not really that difficult of a game.
I found myself bopping with the music and it really fit the game well.
A short and sweet experience.

Bzzzt is so immediately comfortable and responsive to play that I feel like I've played it before many times. Maybe it's because in a way I have. None of Bzzzt's ideas will come across as original to anyone who's played a few platformers already, especially if Celeste is in that list. Still, I give the game major respect for simply feeling correct in my hands from the first minute.

The length of the game might be an issue for some, at just 2-2.5hrs for a first playthrough. This is the kind of game you're really supposed to 100% though, which bumps that up to a much more respectable 4-5hrs in total. A bigger problem than length for me was difficulty. Of the 52 levels there were only a handful that took serious effort to beat the trophy times for. So while Bzzzt feels great to control, there's very little in the game to test your problem-solving skills against.

I would strongly recommend Bzzzt. It's charming, fun and doesn't waste any of your time with its simple, skippable story and fast resets. My biggest caveat is that fans of the genre shouldn't expect the game to test or surprise them.

As brief as it may be, there's plenty to like about this level-based pure platformer. From its steady rise of obstacle-based challenges to its plethora of optional content, this little platformer is easily worth the price of admission.

Beautifully made and challenging, too bad that it is a little short, was thinking that a new character with new levels would be unlocked by the end but that's okay.

I recommend this one for Super Meat Boy and Celeste fans.

A precision platformer with a cute visual design and music, it doesn’t go too far with adding new mechanics but still finds a way to have a nice level of challenge. Fans of this type of game will have a good time but if you aren’t into them I don’t think this would change your mind, though the robot is pretty awesome so maybe!

✔ Beautiful pixel art
✔ Bopping retro music
✔ Precise controls with some tight level design

It might not blow your mind as it's over too quickly but everything it does it does very well and I had a great time with this one.

Short and well made precision platformer

A 2D platformer with some great controls and music. It was great to always go for the flawless (specific time + all collectibles) runs on each stage, with some being really tight checks. Maybe I'll go back to insane mode, but I have too many stupid deaths at the moment.

This has been such a delight. It controls well, looks gorgeous, the bit tunes sound great, it doesn’t cost an arm & a leg and there is no filler content. What more could you ask for?

It’s a platformer with simple controls. Its focus is getting through obstacles without getting hit. One touch and you’re out, on medium difficulty at least. What keeps it engaging is trying to do flawless runs. They are runs where you have to collect all the bolts and beat the in-game timer in one go. The bolts are not hidden, they’re all visible but they can be placed in tricky spots. There are also 4 bosses which are very varied and fun to go through.

The game is challenging with flawless runs. I’ve died many times. This normally annoys me with other games but here it feels fair. It doesn’t cross the line of going too far and it kept me engaged. It took me 5.6 hours to get 100% flawless with all levels. I’m planning on attempting insane difficulty and get the 3 other achievements I’m still missing.

I don’t know what the experience is for players who just want to run through the game as quickly as possible. But this game is absolutely worth it for completionist players. The game also has online ranking with the best overall score if you’re into that.

Bzzzt instantly beams you back to the 80s platformers with its colorful futuristic art design and the chiptune-like soundtrack. The controls are very precise, and while it's not as merciless as other games of the genre, it can still be quite challenging traversing through the 52 levels on the hunt for golden screws and a better time. If you're a fan of the genre, it's a must-buy. Also, if you have problems with timing in platformer games, Bzzzt has a very accessible easy mode without compromising the core gameplay.

I would say it's definitely on par with modern games of the genre, like Celeste gameplay-wise. It's a bit of a bummer for me personally that you can summarize the whole plot in one sentence, since I quite enjoyed it in Celeste, but that might be a plus for you if you just want to experience a short little platformer.
