While still as fun to drive in as any additional map would be, I feel there is something missing to really complete the package, and it would mostly be more LEGO.
Not every new car is LEGO, they already add very few new cars with each expansion, and even unlocking some of the few choices requires playing a lot of the expansion, which limits your possibilities if you just want play with LEGO cars.
In general the map and races feel uninspired (a lot of mirror A to B, B to A races), and collectables that appear only at night or when raining AND are only unlocked deep into the expansion make for an uneven experience, that is still good, but could be much better.

This is neat, and manages to maintain the fun aspect of the Horizon series. The master builder quest in which you have to earn a number of Lego bricks to progress - is a cool idea, and some of the milestone targets such as race the McClaren Senna with its Lego counterpart is excellent.
My kids appreciated this more than the main game. It's amazing what difference smashing plastic bricks as opposed to stone walls dotted around the English countryside can make.
The main drawback with this is that it's a bit flat after a while. I'd have like to have seen a bit more innovation along the lines of the master builder quest. Destroying Lego alien artifacts is a good idea, but for some bizarre reason, they're only accessible at certain times of day or with a particular weather pattern which is a bit annoying.
It's a good add on but I wouldn't say it's essential.

I originally had this at 4.5. Now 2.5, this was way worse than I remembered. Also gave up on it near the end. I got to the point where I finished the first (yes, there's 2 of them) Goliath and the next part was unlocking the UFO for the house. I just couldn't be bothered once I saw what came later was the Second Goliath (2 laps of the existing one) and a winner's trophy to unlock after that.
Like so many of the challenges are so tedious and grindy that even reading their requirements made me feel exhausted. It just didn't feel worth it going that far a second time. Definitely not something I'd recommend 100%'ing, but just messing around in for a bit can be fun for a while.
Still, nowhere near as good as Fortune Island. My FH4 bias really doesn't help this one. It just felt kinda boring.
Also, I do not agree with "it's bad because it's Lego". While I can see how it's a detriment to the map in some ways, I never thought the branding was what ruined it. I think it's just not very fun.

This actually gave me a reason to play Forza, wow. I wasn't unimpressed but I wish the goofiness of Lego was at the forefront some more. The game definitely got old after a few hours but I think I'd gotten my fill without it ever feeling bad to play. I think the biggest L this game takes is having only a few Lego cars available at all. This coulda been the prime opportunity to let the player make fully custom Lego cars in a way that would surpass Lego Racers, but we got the relatively dull based-on-real-llife models instead. I don't mind it too much but this game in general has a ton of missed opportunities like that all over the place. I figure if this were a full game instead of a (large) DLC those sorts of things probably would have been included, but I guess I'll never know.
Of course, unless Lego finally drops a new Lego Racers game...

It's an absolute joy to see actual LEGO sets I own in a video game, in this case the Bugatti Chiron. You can even go into photo mode and see the fine details of the LEGO pieces. Awesome.
This is more Forza, which isn't a bad thing. One thing I liked was the 'wall of challenges', which was a neater way of displaying all the races and tasks you need to complete than just staring at a map covered in mission markers.
The one drawback of this DLC is that not all the LEGO breaks as you'd expect, cars often get caught on barriers and other set dressing, or break through multiple trees only to stop dead in front of a slightly bigger one.
