Extraído de las entrañas del infierno, GGXXAC Plus R, es, en su estética, música y tono la personificación del Rock gamificado en forma de juego de peleas. Al mirar este juego, todo su diseño evoca un sentimiento de oscuridad, muy gamberro que busca romper con todo el arte clásico y correcto y crear sus propios cánones en un videojuego contextualizado en un mundo post-apocalíptico. La expresión de los personajes es única, desbordan personalidad, sus diseños son extravagantes y grotescos, sus movimientos son variados y adaptados a la fisiología del personaje que permite al jugador experimentar para encontrar un estilo propio.
Además de un abultado roster de 25 personajes jugables para esta revisión, el juego también cuenta con una versión EX para cada personaje que varía la ejecución y movimiento de los personajes a excepción de Justice y Kliff, varias paletas de colores con referencias varias y la capacidad de seleccionar el lugar de procedencia de cada personaje pulsando dirección hacia arriba al elegir stage.
La jugabilidad es frenética, recompensa la agresividad y las combinaciones largas, ningún personaje es inútil o posee una desventaja clara, lo que prima es la capacidad del jugador para explotar las herramientas de su personaje y explotar los puntos flacos de los otros. En este sentido, el juego es “una de cal y una de arena”, no es la meca del balance, aunque con la revisión el juego ha solucionado bastantes de sus problemas en este apartado. Pero no posee ningún match up que parezca imposible o extremadamente negativo.
Concretamente, esta revisión del juego cuenta con un balance en las mecánicas, y añade nuevos modos de combate además de un modo online. A destacar uno de ellos, TEAM 1vs1 es un modo que hace a este Guilty Gear asemejarse a un The King of Fighters permitiendo al jugador seleccionar 3 personajes en el orden que quiera y enfrentarse a otro jugador con otros 3 personajes.
La música, como en todos los Guilty Gear es enérgica, rockera que busca convertir cada partida en un enfrentamiento épico, en concreto la música de este juego usa acompañamientos acústicos para la melodía junto a una guitarra eléctrica y batería característicos del rock tratando de transmitir la personalidad de cada personaje.
La historia es una continuación de Guilty Gear XX The Midnight Carnival que se centra principalmente en la línea de Sol Badguy, con algunas historias no canónicas en los arcades, como la de Baiken. Otras que son canónicas, pero que no siguen el hilo de la historia como la de A.B.A. que recibe cambios respecto a su primera aparición en GG Isuka. Y que prepara la trama para la posterior aparición de las “Valentines” y la revelación de “That Man”.

this game is pretty cool, I played the story mode for a few of my fav characters and that may be all I do, but I could see myself exploring some of the other modes later!
Bill Clinton was right about this series and one of the many problems with his shitty fucking crime bill was that it didn’t call for everyone behind this game’s creation to be locked up without trial

jokes aside, i love accent core for everything its worth. its fucked up name, its jank sprites, its tough as nails execution... am i good at this game? absolutely not, although that might have something to do with my two mains being bottom tier (robo-ky) and one of the more technical characters on the roster (ABA). that being said, accent core is a stylish as hell game and i love it for that. theres so much wacky shit you can pull off in this game that absolutely would not fly in a more modern GG game, and i think its a great time capsule of early GG. i also think this game has the most diverse and interesting cast of playable characters, with guys like zappa, order sol, and robo ky. the challenge mode is also pretty fun for singleplayer, which is something i dont think a lot of fighting games get right. overall, a great package for anyone wanting an over the top, insane anime fighting game that still retains some of the jank of older GG games
