i got too high while playing this and the last 10 minutes scared me lmao

i really enjoyed this though! loved the story, the writing, the art style. the eraser can get a bit annoying but it’s On Theme. genuinely enjoyed the characters and getting to know them.

Despite its strongly narrativised main mechanics, If Found wasnt able to fully capture my heart.

As a trans person it touched me, almost unavoidably, but its ending sequence left a strangely soured taste in my mouth. I was expecting something raw and honest, an experience I could learn from, but what I got was an ending that just made me think "if only".

I'm sure there are people who do resonate with this game. I'm glad it exists for them, and I'll keep searching and hoping for a game that hits me the same way.

cute game! characters are really endearing, i love the representation, it feels very genuine and grounded in a time and a place. the core mechanic of erasing is really interesting and really adds to the feelings of the story, i wish it was a little bit more clearly connected to the story. the story definitely meanders, which feels like part of the experience but there were definitely times when it became a bit of a slog. some small issues with polish, but i think it makes the game feel like it was actually made by people as well which i always like

If Found... is a very short and creative visual novel. The story touched me deeply and the soundtrack is really good at conveying the feelings that the game wants to convey. I had a great time playing If Found... on a train after departing from my semester abroad in Ireland although it also made me very nostalgic/melancholic. It helped me say goodbye and find closure.

I'm not much for visual novels, and this one is more heavily weighted towards novel than I realized. As far as analyzing the merits of the story, the ending seems sudden and character motivations are unexplained and underdeveloped. With some more development, I could see it being an effective story.

This is the good kind of visual novel, one that try to do something with the gameplay (Even if simple) while telling you a beautiful yet powerful history. I really wish more people give it a chance, because it tackles a really difficult theme in a natural and personal manner. The game doesn't throw you the in's and out's of the trans community, just want to show you the feelings of one individual in it and hopefully the empathy will make you understand the rest.

absolutely devastating. if you're trans (especially transfem) you owe it to yourself to play this game. for cis people out there, i can only say that it's a wonderful story with gorgeous art and music that's kept me listening even after i stopped playing. i don't think there's another game out there right now that represents the trans experience with such raw emotion, but i'm on a quest to find out

If Found... is an emotional visual novel journey that takes you through the journey of Kasio who wants to navigate through finding who she is. The narrative mechanic is really an interesting concept for the story. It was a short, but engaging story that pulled at my emotions quite a bit! Definitely recommend overall!

(Review from 2021)

This game helped me feel more comfortable to tell the people in my life who I really am.

"Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those who mind don’t matter,
and those who matter don’t mind."

It happens quite often that someone finds themselves trapped in the wrong body and then their loved ones don't support them.

If Found... is a game about going home, coming out and erasing everything. If Found... tells a story of a young woman named Kasio. She just wants to be accepted by her family as who she is.

If Found... is not much of a "game," more so a journal you read through while erasing parts, so just know what to expect. Basically, your interaction would be the equivalent of turning a page in a book.

This game reminded me, and I am sure many others, that no matter how hard things get, and no matter what happens, it'll all end up okay eventually.

cute queer story game. not particularly compelling, especially if you've consumed a decent amount of queer media

the best queer visual novel i have ever played (which isnt saying a lot because there isn't many)

i feel like if found does everything omori tried doing but did all of it waayyyyyy better

Beautiful art direction, amazing music and a touching story.
But be warned: it is barely a game. Not even a visual novel. Is more like an interactive book. If you like that kind of media, then you will love it.

i cried 10 times i love queer people

a beautiful, hard-hitting and delightfully irish visual novel that i just wish was longer.

makes me feel at home and nostalgic despite happening in a time and place i've never been. i'm from the uk and have watched a fair amount of irish + northern irish tv so my familarity with the vast majority of the slang and irish terms (ie not really needing to click on most of the explanations) definitely helped but this game makes me feel a really weird kind of longing

i don't know what that longing is for but maybe i'm as of yet too young to know. at first it didn't resonate, esp as i struggled to reconcile kasio and cassieopeia's stories (i didn't know what was going on w cassieopeia's story tbh) but then i just. kept thinking about it

i might replay this in the future. it's a game that stays with you, and despite the mild annoyance of the actual gameplay mechanics, is more than worth it

First off, it's weird finishing a game to see a few people you know in the credits. Anyway, a great little game about finding a place to belong when bringing new age queerness to old fashioned Ireland. I admit, I got a little teary at the end.

Kind of tired of visual novels but this one stands pretty strong

this visual novel has such stunning music, animation, and art!! it's truly beautiful and i appreciate how innovative and playful the creators were with this whole thing. it has a gentleness to it i really enjoyed.

the story is very queer (like me!), and anyone who also loves stories about seeking found family or feeling like an outsider will likely enjoy this sweet irish story.

the eraser mechanic is sometimes a bit annoying... occasionally it would erase things it shouldn't have, dialogue suddenly disappearing before i had the chance to read. otherwise, i had a wonderful experience.

this was good im not trans or anything but i liked the game
