yeah it plays like. fine i guess. it's a little clunky because it's running on a DS but it's like. fine. the fights are less annoying than the ones in 358/2, and the stat matrix is a fun way to play with the game's difficulty

but wow there's like . nothing important here, huh

NOOO THEY PUT BUGS IN MY POOKIE !!??

Había olvidado la existencia de esta cosa

pretty fun, shame that it has absolutely no significance in any way whatsoever to the main story

Not shockingly bad, just bad.

To everyone bombing review this solely because they only watched the 2.5 HD Remix cutscenes-movie: FUCKING. PLAY. IT.
Or else your reviews means absolutely nothing.

Yes, we get it, the story is useless. Are you really pretending that KH is about the confused abstruse plot and not, you know...the gameplay? Because this game rules and Sora feels so fun to play. After the clunkyness that was 358/2 Days on the gameplay, this was oxygen.

It's fine and there are some concepts which I think could be really cool if they fleshed them out a little more but at the end of the day: it's just KH1 but way worse. Less worlds, a worse story and combat that, whilst still fun, is a bit too simplistic all combine to make this not feel very worthwhile by today's standards. The system sector parts of the worlds were fun little challenges with some nice risk and reward even if it's the same 5 or so randomly generated rooms on a cycle. I feel like if they added roguelike elements to these sections that would spice things up much more. All that considered, Re:Coded absolutely has some merit of its own: it's simple hack and slash fun and the command melding system feels more refined than in Birth by Sleep by allowing you to experiment a little with your new command before taking the plunge and fusing the old ones. I also admired the attempt at different gameplay styles; 2D platforming and turn based rpg are styles you wouldn't really expect from this series so it was refreshing to see them pop up for a quick spectacle then exit before they overstay their welcome. Those merits don't really boost the experience above others in the series however so we're left with a very middle-of-the-road KH game even if there is fun to be had.

Good game
The disappearance of Hatsune Miku plays on the background

Jiminy is a programmer lol

"played" the ps4 powerpoint but the story is prolly the worst story i've ever seen

Wildly overhated. It has an absolutely nothing story but the gameplay is shockingly good! Not something to go out of your way to play but if you've played the rest then there is certainly worse ways to spend your time.

Just get 358/2 Days if you want a decent DS Kingdom Hearts game.

If you REALLY wanted to play Kingdom Hearts on your DS, and didn't want to play as Roxas.

Absolutely abysmal story aside, it has good qualities. For a DS action-RPG it has really good and fleshed out combat The customizable stat progression and variety in the attack commands really make it very enjoyable. The customizable difficulty with being able to effect every individual parameter of combat is also great.

Fun game but irrelevant to the plot

I definitely hindered my experience with this game by playing on crit the whole time but eh not too fond of this really doesn't do anything for me

Ridiculous story / Underrated combat

definitely the most fun handheld entry, but it contributes nothing to the overall plot. i hesitate to call it "skippable," but it's the only game that isn't required to play (unless data-sora somehow comes into play in the lost master saga).

O começo até me deu esperanças...

Cant remember a single thing that happend in this "movie". Only managed to sit through it cuz my wifi shut off and it was the only thing to do

After most of my life trying to play this game, but failing at it, I will put this game to rest.
Besides, it's not even included in the collection and instead, it's just the cutscenes.
I feel pretty silly for trying to still play this game despite all the signs not to.
So, goodbye.
