Really enjoyed this the first time i played it in 2019, but everytime ive tried to replay it ive encountered so many bugs and crashes and the awful cinematography in the cutscenes also distracted me

dude i played this game so many times it would be so reasonable for u to call me stupid - it's just a linear story! nothing changes on replay! this is my godfather 1 AND 2

Play this game during Christmas, you won't regret it. Even if you don't it's an amazing game.

I feel like Tony Soprano playing this shit

If I could, I would give all my five stars to Tomasino and the VO actor, Sonny Marinelli.

i love fight against fascist but i don't like being on american side. dilemma of communists in ww2...

good characthers, good story, i love you joe!

Fun game with great characters and story. Not a fan of the end but a good time

this fucking plot!!! i love you vito

i remember playing this whole trilogy near the start of last year
and absolutely loving all of it its literally the perfect representation of what a mafia game should be

Perfection but the ending is disappointing, but overall it's really really fun

How it feels to have a friend that's kinda a loser but lowkey chill

Mafia 2 is a repetitive but good game. The enemy AI could be annoying at times and I could do without the racist remark but other than it’s a solid game that aged well enough in term of graphics.

A super-expected continuation of the series of games about the mafia with a self-explanatory title. The strongest point is the plot, the living world. The weakest is the expectation of something more from the franchise itself than a GTA clone. Is the game a classic at the moment? Absolutely.

this is the most 2010 game i have ever played

In my humble opinion, this game absolutely does not hold up to the passage of time. I've recently completed a playthrough of the first game, and while it was the remake, I'm going to keep my thoughts focused on the story for the time, and have to say that Mafia 2's story is shoddy, disjointed, and its pacing is absolute ass. You'll spend 50 percent of the time just going back and forth between locations, and while the other 50 percent of the time there are shootouts happening, very often they are underwhelming both in terms of gameplay and story utility. The original was such an absolute joy to play, every character was interesting and easy to distinguish, but in this game, names and faces just kind of melt together. Everyone turns in gruff, bland, and forgettable performances, and even the character of Vito is such a wet blanket compared to Tommy Angelo from Mafia 1. I enjoyed this game as a teenager, but going back to the game nearly 15 years later has really shown me that this game did not age well, and to be honest, im honestly surprised the fanbase seems to love Vito as much as they do, because to me, there isn't a single endearing moment in this game. Not every reunion can be an enjoyable one, and while I have the definitive edition, I don't even like the game enough to pretend that I want to even try whatever lazy, trite DLC is packaged with it.

Awesome lore, as good as the first game

It's definitly fun, back then when I was hunting achievements I remember how stupid some of them were which now lefts me with a bad aftertaste for this game.

Maybe not the perfect game by industry standards but it holds a place in my heart no other game has been able to take.
Mafia II is an excellent and interesting take on the ''mob lifestyle'' between the period of the 1940s and 1950s.
The more 'down to earth' tone of the game makes me fall in love with the narrative. It feels like what is happening CAN happen in real life (Obviously making an exception to the over-the-top action moments included for gameplay reasons) and it manages to create a gripping storyline throughout all the chapters.

For its' time, it was also quite surprising how much freedom you would get in, what feels like, a makeshift open world. Even though the game is not built around exploring the city, when you do get the chance to do so, it feels immersive and beautiful. Stores have weather appropriate clothes, the cars and their colors seem to change and adapt to the time period, the radio stations are precisely crafted.

Mafia II is an excellent experience in a niche gaming genre. To me, it will (probably) always be my favorite game of all time.
