Probably my favorite Mario Party! Love playing as Boo

Lot of fun mini games, especially with the day/night cycle variants

This one might be the best one, though I haven't played 5 or 7, since I only play even numbered Mario Party games.

I'm kinda biased with this one since my childhood mario party is 7 and that game is pretty much just this one but improved upon, but hey diet cool is still cool, yanno? the singleplayer is nonexistent, if you are on your own, don't even bother with this game. Multiplayer is cool in the fact this is the first mario party to have different boards have different gamemodes, which I do enjoy despite the fact that some boards like faire square are completely borked in terms of balance. The game modes shake things up for each map rather than just being different maps for the same "go here, get the star, here's where the next star is, go there" gameplay. Theres also the day/night system which was added here which actually is really cool and I'm genuinely surprised they didn't keep it around for later installments. Also mic support yeehaw. All in all, id probably say this is probably the second best mario party on the gamecube, and honestly it's one of the best in the series.

I'll win one of these days...

Oh yeah, this is it, Mario Party peaked here. Mario Party 6 just does everything a party game can do correctly. The maps are so fun and creative, the minigames are all great, there's not an overabundance of RNG and luck but it's still not about skill, and not to mention the day and night system. There is really nothing I dislike about this game, this is just one of many games from the Gamecube era that prove Nintendo was at its peak in terms of innovation and creativity.

i had to look up the boards in this one. This game has day and night similar to my life

mario jumped off the cliff by himself and then the memory card this game was saved on selectively wiped games for example tales of symphonia i had many files maybe 20 and only 6 survived. it was fun tho liked the day/night cycle

6 is the best one, best boards, best balancing, best minigames, it has the lot.

Very biased toward this one. The single-player is basically nonexistent for some reason and the 4 player mini games are weak. I do hold records for some of them btw. The day/night mechanic is great and some of the boards are the best in the franchise. The content and weaker minigames prevents this from being the GOAT.

day and night
the lonely stoner seems to free his mind at night

the most 6 mario party has ever been. Only giving 5 stars for the main review, the 6th one is a bonus round star

Review in progress:
My favorite Mario Party. The day/night system was cool. It's still not that good of a game, though.

Definitely an improvement again. Maybe the best entry on the Gamecube.

Consists of a very balanced mix of boards and minigames, this iteration of Mario Party is my personal favourite. Every Mini game is exciting! There is a nice mix of skill to luck ratio, and the games feel smooth to play rather that other Mario Parties that feel either stiff or slippery. My personal favourite minigames is 'Throw Me a Bone'.

The board designs are also some of the bests in the series, notable ones being 'Fair Square' and 'Castaway Bay' which have enjoyable gimmicks to them that spice up the game without it being completely game-breaking. Mario Party 6 is one of the Mario Parties that have a day and night system, where the time of day changes each 3 turns which have effects that change the way you approach your turns.

There is a little bias towards this version because it's the Mario Party that I played most with friends, it has the perfect pacing for our friend group who don't like to spend too much time on a game of Mario Party, while still getting the full enjoyment out of the experience!

Who would of thought putting a day/night cycle in a Mario Party game would make it excellent?

This is my former favorite Mario Party, but I became a bit jaded on it by overplaying it. I totally think it's valid to like this one most of all, though, it's very good. I live for the bingo minigame mode.

This series was a staple of group gatherings for a significant portion of my young life all the way up through college. Every entry I've played has been a blast to play with others and complete crap to play alone.

I fell in love with 7 first and only went back to try out 6 later on, but this game might very well be the peak of the entire franchise. It has everything you could want out of a Mario Party experience with incredible mini-games, the day/night cycle mechanic in party mode, great boards, and really fun alternatives to party mode. There's a reason Mario Party endured so long as an annual franchise and Nintendo did a really good job changing the games up with each and every title to keep the formula feeling fresh. I played the crap out of this game as a kid and it will always be a special one for me.
