One of the best true arcade football games of all time. All elements of the game are highly stylized and cohesive within each other. The single player gameplay can be exciting, but once you have a high level team the NFL Challenge mode starts to feel like more of a chore. Games against your friends are always a blast, however, as the different win condition rule sets available keep the gameplay fresh. The sequel includes numerous quality of life improvements and gameplay updates which leaves this one feeling lackluster in comparison, unfortunately, but it still holds up well overall.
The first NFL Street game is a bit shallow but still remains fun. The art direction is impressive for the era. The fields are vibrant and the players have a lot of personality. The lone single-player campaign can be a grind and there's really just not much else to do but play exhibition games.
Like NBA Street, the first entry in the series is a good start, but the sequel expands and improves upon it in every category.
