I think this game has some good levels but a lot of them were so straightforward that they prevented me from enjoying the game as much as I wanted to.
I really like how this expansion experiments with roguelite design and had a fun time playing it, but I also think the often recycled levels can cause the mode to suffer from repetition.
It's impressive how Super Mario RPG both founded and nailed the inventive battle mechanics, creative boss battles, fun characters, and charm that would go on to define Mario RPGs. Also, this remake was a fun way to first experience this game.
