I know the devs so no score and I'll keep it brief.

After you play it for a while And get the hang of it you can reach a zen point where your eyes barely register your character, your instincts and muscle memory kick in, and it just works. To me this is a mark of an exceptional design.

Spiritfall takes and refferences many other games such as Hades, Dead Cells and various platform fighters. Despite that the game manages to craft a unique and addicting gameplay loop with 10 weapons and 7 characters with their own stat changes and gimicks. My absolute only complaint is that I want more. More areas, more enemies, more upgrades. The base game is so good that I just want more

Un autre great Roguelite de 2024!

Imaginez un cross-up entre Dead Cells et un platform fighter comme Brawlhalla et Smash Bros.

Une session addictive de 5 heures non-stop m’a permis de finir une run

Gameplay is real good, it really captures the feeling of a smash-like, and flows really well to boot. I really like how each weapon and their variant feels very different, and all of them were pretty enjoyable to play around with.

The blessing system is pretty much picked up from Hades, and works pretty well, even if it doesn't break any ground.

Encounter design is... hit or miss. With the combinations of having several enemies, quick wind ups and shielded enemies that can't be knocked back for some hits, combat can get really messy and hard to understand. It doesn't help that some difficulty modifiers compound this problem and make some rooms what feels like straight up unfair.

Art is pretty good, the environments can feel a bit static at times, but the overall art style is clean and pretty to look at. Music was also really good.

Overall, apart from a few issues with difficulty, I very much enjoyed this.

Not a rougelike guy, however this one got my hooked

Very early so i wont give it more than a 4, but once its finished it'd be in debate for one of my fav games of all time

Gamefeel is great, gameplay loop is great but sorta repetitive, etc

Just a solid game, try it

Pretty fun roguelike with a good base for a bigger game, waiting for updates since its missing content, I already completed multiple runs with each weapons and it has gotten stale.

Decent roguelite, plays like a platform fighter which is a pretty cool concept. This game nearly hits that mark, but misses it due to inconsistency. I constantly feel like I'm getting hit when I shouldn't. I get it for the bosses but the normal/elite enemies constantly breaking out of my stuns right as they're in my face is so infuriating. They shouldn't break out at all fuck them, they're normal AI enemies, let me shit on them if I have the skill to. I'd say same for the bosses, but I get it for them at least. All the pickups besides moves, and things that affect stuff like health or movement speed, feel like the do nothing imo. I would stack damage increases and still feel like I'm doing no damage. Some of the metaprogression is useful, some of it you'll just pick to get to the options further in. Art style is great, music is solid enough that I never muted it to listen to my own. SFX are nice and meaty too. The gameplay itself is actually pretty solid (when it wants to be) which is why my rating is still a bit high despite all my issues with the game, it satisfices my urge to play a platform fighter a bit. A lot of this is pretty fixable imo. Maybe one day they will, prolly not tho.

I started playing this game when it was still in very early access and it has come an incredible way to reach the 1.0 we're at now.

This is now a full fledged, incredibly polished platform fighter roguelike. It wears it's Smash bros and Hades inspirations proudly while still creating something wholly unique and of its own.

While you always play the same character, you have different movesets based on which of the 10 weapons you run, as well as optional mid run abilities you can collect, and modifiers to the properties of your moveset.

Overall I strongly recommend this to anyone who like platform fighters or action roguelike games; it's amongst the best of both worlds.

jogo legal, as builds são interessantes, obviamente segue o ritmo de todo jogo do estilo, após zerar algumas vezes perde a graça. Apesar de ainda estar um pouco cru, vale a pena pra perder algumas horas

I'm updating this review as it has been updated quite a bit and I've really gotten to delve more into it. I'm changing my review from 3.5/5 to 4/5 as the game has done nothing but improve in the recent updates. I will likely update again once it reaches it's 1.0. This game is a great rogue-lite and deserves more attention. The art style is stunning and smooth. The designs are amazing. The combat feels impactful and satisfying. It has a decent amount of content and the addition of difficulty modifiers really help the longevity of the game. It's very easy to put at least 3-4 hours in every time you boot it. I'm excited to see the full release of this game and what it brings to the table!
