Fancy Pants is widely recognized as the face of flash games (even tho he doesn't have one), seeing him getting a full fledged game in Steam is nothing short of breathtaking. This is probably the best game in the series, improving everything from worlds 1-3, while keeping the classic feeling of amateurism the franchise always carried (this is a compliment), and adding some great new mechanics, especially the pen surfing.
I wasn't really interested in the challenge rooms in world 3, and I'm glad they were simplified to simple platform challenges here (would be even gladder if I didn't lose lifes on them), and I had even less interest in the story of that game, so I'm happy it is basically inexistent now. Now IT IS a grotesque mistake to remove the classic enemies from 4/5 of the game, inklings are cool, but the fact I can't stomp on their heads really pisses me off, it wouldn't be such a big deal if weapon combat was better than in world 3, but it isn't, even with the ice cream upgrades.

Fun, smooth platformer. Good sequel to a flash classic.

somehow has worse controls than the previous game. brad really fumbled the bag here

timeless flash game, still holds up incredibly well

never finished but its okay cuz its fancy pants
good nostalgic gameplay, feels great, nice music :D

Smooth and very satisfying but way too short, but still worth buying

This is a game that has truly excellent controls, but feels a bit lackluster as a retail release. The series as a whole has thrived off it's controls and swift animation, resulting in a game that just feels good to play. It's got that certain 'flash game' charm that I quite like as well. The level design is good at complimenting the slick movement, but it lacks variety and challenge. It stops introducing new mechanics fairly early on, and it doesn't ask the player to use these mechanics in particularly interesting ways. For example, the player can shoot ink out of a pen to turn outlines into solid blocks. However, these are placed in fairly static areas where the player just stops, turns them solid, and then proceeds. It's unfortunate, because there's a lot of potential here.

I'd honestly give the game a 10/10 solely for its movement and momentum physics. I would honestly love to see a custom workshop for this game, cause some people could design some really fantastic stages that could implement the physics. My biggest issue with the game was really the fact that it's really short, with it pretty much being a port of the flash game. The enemies are pretty basic too and can be killed easily with the abilities you unlock later on. Aside from that, definitely worth the 10$ price.

These are some fancy pants

enjoyed the game up until volcano approach, couldnt even finish the level without a glitch that includes a huge amount of flashing lights and crashing..! wish i could finish cause it is a fun game :(

Almost great.
It has some of the best movement I have felt in any game, but I don't think any of the stages presented take full advantage of it.

A super fun 2d platformer with amazing controls. Pretty short, but still great for the price.

Such a damm fancy game. Never has controlling a stickman with fancy pants fellt better and the newgrounds nostalgia hit harder. Its really short but also is just 10 Dollars, so there is no excuse for me to not recommend it. I want part 2 right now!

a janky, but fun sequel to a game i loved when i was a kid

The game was almost so cool, but it's unfortunately unfinished and unpolished. Movement is fun.

Smooth game with cool movement and satisfying combat, but could've gone a bit longer instead of just ending. I really was not expecting the game to just end how it did and I was really surprised there wasn't more. The game itself is good but it could've benefited from more length.

Fun, smooth and sleek gameplay that is subtracted from by a disappointing ending that offers so much yet so little.

this was a fun time! i was a bit worried a lot of the praise i heard was just like "dude i played this game when i was 10 at my school computer it was the best shit ever made!!!" and wasn't actually that great but i was surprised at how genuinely solid it was! i think some of the praise it gets is overblown because of that flash game nostalgia, but still, it stands on its own as a good time!

my major complaints here are that the level design itself isn't entirely interesting or great. it picks up near the end of the game and gets a bit more exciting, but generally it just kinda relies on the movement and physics being fun and satisfying enough to carry it, and to be fair they are, but i also didn't absolutely fall in love with those aspects as some people did (still thought they were good! just not like best game feel ever good or anything) so the level design was a bit of a bummer. i also hated the combat, it doesn't feel terrible and honestly the animations are solid and cool looking but it's just so pointless and at best a lame pacebreaker. about halfway through the game every enemy turns into an ink monster, and it just really makes the combat stand out as annoying. you can no long jump on or slide through enemies and that was the most fun thing to do with enemies! it's a bummer, the bosses are also incredibly simple and uninteresting. it's not so prevalent that it super brings the game down, but no combat whatsoever would really just have been better lol.

positives wise, the game does feel really solid! it's got a good sense of speed/momentum and you can pull off some neat tricks! the best part for sure was just running around, building up speed, and launching yourself off of platforms. it could have worn out its welcome but the game is so short it doesn't really. it never reaches the heights of something like the classic sonic games, or a weirder more niche reference, defunct. there isn't much of a risk of losing your momentum and it never truly feels super earned. which is fine, it's fun to run around and do crazy shit but i never got that adrenaline pumping rush for going fast cause i was just kinda always doing it and didn't feel super at risk of losing it. visually this game is absurdly charming. a very cute art style, with a lot of little art book gimmicks that are very cute to see and help it all feel like a kids little sketch book. it's very unique and appealing and one of the stronger aspects for sure.

this game was fun, if not a little generic/uninteresting. i think if you make it a bit longer, up the intensity of the platforming and completely remove the combat you've got a truly great game on your hands but as it stands it's just a good one, which ain't a bad thing whatsoever!

I was introduced to The Fancy Pants Adventure in the early 2000s, on Flash game websites like Andkon and Kongregate that hosted it. It's simplistic but creative style and surprisingly fun and fast paced platforming quickly became one of my favorite games to play on the computer. It's really delightful to see this franchise still gaining new entries over time, and Super Fancy Pants Adventure is indeed a great entry. The PC version on Steam had me run into a few glitches, though nothing that ruins the experience. With it's surprisingly fun physics and combat, intuitive mechanics like ink surfing, and creative aesthetics and art direction, it's a great time for classic fans and newcomers. Fancy Pants Adventure may be the closest thing we'll ever get to a modern Sonic Advance game.

So, we are going to be getting that sequel soon...right?
