I know I haven't played that many Zelda games in my life, but to me, this has got to be one of the best 3D Zelda games.
It might look a bit ugly compared to other games in the series, and in some areas, it suffers from the usual tedium that traditional Zelda games give me (Especially during temples); but what can I say, this game hooked me and I really enjoyed the whole journey.
A part of me would like to revisit it some day, now having a bit more experience...But another part of me just can't go back to the traditional Zelda formula after experiencing BotW and TotK. If you want to get into Zelda tho, I would say this is a damn good game to start with; way more fun than Ocarina of Time imo, even with motion controls and everything.
Also, midget Midna awoke something in me that I didn't even know I had....

True to the formula, and nailed it. It tried to be as dark as Majora's Mask, but didn't quite get there. The graphics were a big change by trying to go for a more realistic art style. A lot went right here, and it was a very good game. There was just something that didn't quite grip me like a lot of the other Zeldas.
Wow you can really tell that this game feels forced. Everyone wanted a gritty Zelda game so this is was we got. Honestly it's a bit to obvious to me. I've only played it once and I think I got my fill for another 3 years. The graphics are muddy and have aged poorly, the soundtrack is good but nothing incredible, the characters are ok. The story just really lost me I remember almost nothing from it. A fine game but not a must play for me.
I had skipped Wind Waker when it came out, so Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game I played since Majora's Mask and man what a fantastic way to return to that world. The dungeons, tools, aesthetic, soundtrack hit so damn hard, and I even enjoyed Wolf Link and the Wii motion controls. I loved this game so much that it became the first Zelda game that I actually 100%'d on my first playthrough - every heart piece, every poe, every bug. Twilight Princess rules.
I am sure that if I had played this when it came out I would have liked it more. I started this game 4 years ago and it was my first Zelda. Everything looks old (obviously, it's an old game) and the plot didn't interest me.
You can change between human and wolf. Ok, cool (but not really because the combat is clunky). The combat, which is something important in this game, is too boring and doesn't look natural. My wrists hurt of always trying to move that goddamn wii controller.
The dialogue is not incredible. The MC (as usual, I believe in Zelda games) doesn't talk back so it's just a bunch of monologues that are uninteresting.
Unfortunately I found this to be very boring and it took me 4 years to drop it. I almost finished the game though.

This was the first Zelda game I beat, and it's easily my favorite 3D Zelda game. This game has my favorite set of dungeons, boss fights, music compositions, and story. You can see how the team took inspiration from Shadow of the Colossus in both it's world design and the before mentioned boss fights. Then everything leading up to the final confrontation is epic as all hell! Only thing I could critique is that i wish there was more to do side quest wise. The world is so vast and open, but almost feels barren at times when there's nothing to do. Other than that this game is a beautiful masterpiece and I highly recommend it!

So this was... basically just Ocarina again? Like, it's the same game again lmao
This game is way more polished, refined, and fun to play than Ocarina, and I loved living in this version of Hyrule, but the wolf mechanic is underwhelming and underutilized, the game doesn't really introduce anything to advance the established Zelda formula, and the story is a bunch of nothing.
Pros and cons balance out for me. While I'd say this is my favourite Zelda game so far, I am left waiting for the Zelda game that really hooks me.

My personal favorite Zelda game. The only thing I can really find fault in is the fact it has some pretty bad "use item once for dungeon then never again" syndrome, but what a minor complaint. The best combat of the series, the best/most dungeons, best companion, best zelda, best villian (until le ganondorf returns), best final boss, this game is the tried and true honing of what makes Zelda great in my book.
