I really would like to recommend this game due to its nice story and concept(medical ace attorney basically) but from the half of the game onwards the difficulty curve just booms to the top, maybe I had too much difficulty due to the mobile emulator because the game needs great speed and precision that I think it's only possible with the stylus or maybe with the mouse on a PC emulator, but with your index finger itself it's just not doable. Even ignoring this there's an extreme bullshit on the last stage of the game, in which you must not use your special ability, otherwise by the end of the stage you won't be able to finish it, making you replay the hardest stage of the game again, which for me is peak bad game design
I got this and Phoenix Wright as my first DS games and what a choice I made. TC is a really fun and different game. It's kinda like the board game operation except throw in an over the top story and zombie virus's and you have a pretty good picture of how this game plays. The game uses the DS features pretty well. Like remember that section where you have to diffuse a bomb because like if your a doctor and can cut open a patient, cutting bomb wires is the same thing right? Yep that kinda game.
It's fun at first the second half throws FUCK YOU AFTER FUCK YOU at you and the plot goes completely off the walls from realistic to SAVE THE WORLD. But to that triangle virus and having to do the final boss twice (and the second time if you even think of using your healing touch before you are supposed to (which the game does NOT warn you about), fuck you start over. The whole game is fuck you.

there's a very strong chance that i was just dogshit at video games as a teenager, but this game was brutal. fun and interesting gameplay, if a bit repetitive. no one ever seems to talk about how good this game's final boss theme is, and if you take nothing else away from this review, you should listen to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddZDM6ELKgM (second opinion version because it sounds better)
This game is not for everyone. It alienates the players by sudden spikes in difficulty, weird plot pacing and did I mention the difficulty? Regardless, if you can get past the multiple quirks of this game, it is quite a rewarding experience. The only reason I've not finished it is that I lost my stylus and my new one is not nearly sturdy enough for this game.
Nah man. They start great and then shit the bed so quickly. I enjoy helping folk who've been in accidents or come down with an illness, and when you suddenly have Medical Terrorism and a weaponised virus called GUILT showing up, I thought I was in for a good time.
What I was actually in for was ridiculous difficulty spikes that didnae seem to account for the fiddly nature of a DS game requiring a lot of pixel precision, and doing more out loud swearing at a game than I ever have in my whole life.
Those fuckin' triangles. Away ye go.

A brilliant idea that makes perfect use of the touch screen for its gameplay. Had a great time mastering each tool and improving my speed and accuracy, which is something you'll definitely want to do considering the game's difficulty. Later stages, in particular, have little to no room for error even with the use of the game's slow-motion crutch. I'd say around 2 hours of my 8 hour playtime consisted of retries on the game's harder stages, but I'd say it was worth the work.
Presentation, especially compared to what I know of later games in the franchise, is very so-so. The graphics can be rough but are passable and the music, while good, doesn't have a lot of variety.
I found the story surprisingly enjoyable, albeit a bit rushed in pacing. The characters were very likable and the plot was a nice mix of anime corn and Grey's Anatomy with a dash of bioterrorism. A little dramatic, sure, but pretty entertaining.

An interesting concept executed well thanks to its control method and unique identity. The plot is zany, but still investing thanks to likable characters and gripping drama. Ultimately though, poor art direction, some janky controls and the constant repetition of the same challenge does hold it back.
