When it comes to wrestling games, this release has major upsides... and major downsides as well. It has the best creation suite to ever grace a wrestling game, upgrading the amount of Caws you can have to 100, and it has one of the most stacked rosters ever. While the lack of a proper season mode is disappointing, 30 Years Of Wrestlemania Mode and the Story Editor Mode are both present in this release, combined with what is probably the 2nd or 3rd best version of universe mode, this is more than made up for. It is missing some additional match types that would be nice to have, such as buried alive matches, but the selection is varied enough. The AI in this entry can be super unpredictable, and while I can't confirm this to be true, it has been noticed by myself and others that the AI seems to adapt to its move set and character gradually. Again, this isn't proven, but it's certainly a feeling of its existence, keeping the fights fresh. Due to the out right insane customization, this stays the peak overall package game to me, although SvR07 and Smackdown HCTP can come pretty close/
One of my core memories in gaming comes from this game when playing Universe Mode at my couins where as a CAW of myself I beat my cousins CAW and (I think?) Justin Gabriel in a triple threat to win the United States title. He challenged me to an I Quit match for the title straight after which I arrogantly accepted and I lost in a five star classic, him and my other cousin celebrated like he had just won the main event of WM while I stormed off downstairs. Ended up with a shorter reign then when Cena took the WWE title from Mysterio smh.
The last actually good wrestling game. The gameplay is fast and fluid, weapon interactions are fun and can add a lot to the match and universe mode adds a fun way to play out your own wrestling shows, with a great roster to customize it as well. 30 years of wrestlemania is a cool mode, though i kinda wish the game just had a regular career mode. We need actually fun wrestling games again
The last WWE game I've played.
I got this many years after its release because people told me it was a good one.
I mostly used this to create lots of characters for Royal Rumbles. Because as far as I know after the PS3 Era games you could no longer use custom entrance music which sucks. Sadly in Rumbles the Camera isn't showcasing the Ramp so it might not even be the best Game for that. Still solid for WWE Game standards

Playing this back in 2014 was amazing. The 30 years of Wrestlemania showcase was a masterpiece and I'm hope they bring back something like that. The matches felt smooth and I think there was a undertaker streak showcase which was very difficult but thankfully they are all no DQ no I just used the steel steps to build up my finisher. To this day I think this is the best wrestling game.
One of the better modern wrestling games. The roster is quite extensive and has a good mix of modern stars as well as legends, the game modes offer a lot of variety, 30 years of WrestleMania is a great showcase mode, "beat the streak" is a fun superboss-esque challenge to try and beat at least once, and the creation suite is quite extensive.
Though, just like any other wrestling game, especially those with an yearly release cycle, it has some flaws.
The commentary gets repetitive very quickly, "Defend the streak" could've been handled as another story mode, but instead we got a sloberknocker type match which is already present in the regular game, the models and game can sometimes glitch out, especially in a match with a lot of objects and the AI at time feels pretty subpar.
Despite its flaws, it's still a great game and one you should try if you're a wrestling fan.
