One of the best games I've played in a while.

the game i wanted crosscode to be

What an incredible surprise, this is one of the best games of the year, with an astonishing diverse environments, gameplay is fluid and engaging, the mechanics are a blast, this is a must play.

Fun little game. Tons of weapons and weapon types, although boomerangs are mad OP. Really liked how you could tackle the game in any order you wanted to. Stumbled into the volcano area, and because they dropped high end gear, was able to farm red tier gear quite early in the game. Was difficult, and took a long time to clear, but made me a monster.

Cute, fun, nice to look at, speedy bullet-hell RPG.

Fun little casual game. Very short bullet hell with a small amount of build variety. Game formula never changes and its just a fun mindless grind with a good enough difficulty.

Doesn't do anything special though or be complex in any way, but for its simplicity its well executed. 3*

Hold mouse to attack, simple mechanics, repetitive. Having to clear rooms over and over is fucking annoying.

Pretty cool little game. The combat was repetitive but the different builds you can make during the game is what made me continue and play. Ended up doing all of the achievements, pretty easy.

there's a lot of love in this game but there's a few issues mostly negligible. difficulty is balance towards multiplayer so playing on the hardest difficulty might be a mistake. there's some easter eggs to Realm of the Mad God if you're familiar with it.

Played with my kid. This game is very simple and bit repetitive but has good pace for progression. My kid really loved to try different weapons and badges. Recommend for people who want some casual co-op play.

Early on I really liked this game and was thinking it would be a 4.5 star game. A Zelda-style game with Gungeon-inspired gameplay? Sounds like a dream come true.

But honestly this game kinda outstayed its welcome. The combat and soundtrack were both pretty good but not groundbreaking. At first progression was really good, but it kinda slowed down after a while. And honestly the game got pretty repetitive.

Still a good game and I would recommend it but it peaked too early and was a little too long for its own good

Very fun bullet hell game with good variation of weapons, maps and monsters. I feel the length is just right and a good challenge indeed. Go ahead and game, gamer.

Really fun bullet-hell adventure game, many games of this genre tend to have rogue elements so nice to see it take a different approach with beautiful sprite-work. Very fun to get all achievements.

Fun & challenging bullet hell combat
Great enemy/boss variety
Satisfying progression
Many different melee, ranged and magic weapons
Crafting & upgradable weapons
No skillpoints (easy to switch to another build)
Further customization with badges (perks)
Diverse biomes with different resources
Beautiful pixel graphics
Extremely polished
3 difficulty options
Couch co-op

Really fun twin stick RPG but bounced off once the difficulty ramped. I wanted to treat this as a mindless grind, but encountered a tough boss that I couldn’t beat after a few tries.

I may come back to this. I love that it’s an RPG and not a rogue-like, so that I can keep my progress.

I only put a few hours into this so far.

it's fun!! i don't think it's a great bullet hell game, though. hitboxes don't feel well defined and your character is a little large relative to some of the openings that later patterns afford. visual clarity can be rough at times, too.

Great bullet hell, I hate bullet hell but had a great experience with this one. The first 60% of the game is really good on the progression of the game difficult then the rest of it will be probably a feast on the eyes of the hardcore fans of BH games.

An incredibly fun couch coop game that's not too long and doesn't play itself out.

I enjoyed most of this. The simplicity works mostly in its favour, making it easy to pick up and play without over-complicating mechanics and progression. The final boss totally soured the experience for me though. There had been challenging spikes throughout the game, but the level of difficulty here just wasn’t fun. It often felt completely random whether I’d do well or not, and having to start from the beginning of a multi-phase fight each time just sapped the enjoyment. A challenging boss is good when you feel like you’re making progress. This didn’t let me feel that. A shame, because I’d have liked to finish the story, which was light touch but compelling.

There is nothing exceptional about this game. Plays well and looks good. I'm not coming to a bullet hell game for story typically. But even the bullet patterns were fairly boring. And the constant speed and dodging made me pine for the slower, mind-crunching patterns of other titles in the genre.

i had a lot of fun with this one. some fun bosses and enemies in general. i don't think it ever got too interesting but the core gameplay was fun enough that i beat this game in like 2 sittings for 100%

Enter the Gungeon, zelda, and terraria had a child.

Hit gamebreaking bug. May go back eventually.

Archvale is a fun and straightforward bullet hell shooter. Fun weapon and enemy design. One of the major downsides is that the melee weapons are all but useless because there is just too much on the screen and it's tough to get close to something to hit it when it's shooting a million lasers at you all the time.

I played it co-op with my wife and we had enjoyed it all the way through. Not a spectacular game but worth your time, especially with a friend.
Played on GamePass

im still missing one achievement but i can't be bothered enough to actually do it

Played first on normal with controller. Then switched to easy with keyboard and mouse. This time around it was much easier which made me enjoy it more. Maybe a dash too easy though. And I should have went normal on keyboard and mouse.

But very enjoyable and challenging little game with good mechanics and gameplay. Also was very addicting, didn't want to stop playing all the way through.

There's nothing particularly wrong about the game. It's a decent fun twin stick shooter that plays well. But at the same time there's nothing that makes it memorable, that makes it stick out.

Or I guess I could say it's memorable because of how colourless it is... It was a weird, confusing experience.
