the ending absolutely fucking obliterated any chance this game had of being good, sorry :(

I'm surprised at all the negative and unenthusiastic reviews on here. This game is fantastic and blends the two series together wonderfully, even improving on some aspects of them.

the best part of this game is the ace attorney segments but there are only 3 relatively small trials in the entire ~25 hour game

not really a crossover game and more like a marriage of the two franchise's tones and eccentricity. Absolutely bizarre often off-putting but always in the best, most engaging ways

Perfectly combines the best elements of both games. After a long stretch of not so good PL prequels this was a breath of fresh air.

I think a big problem people had with this game was the "big reveal" at the end, and while I understand people's frustration at it, for those that actually play the Layton games, we're used to these types of endings. Aside from some culture shock, I really and truly believe that Layton Vs. Wright gives the best of both worlds and never really feels like a water down version of either side. You explore and solve puzzles between court cases, and the plot and flow of each case feels earned, has emotional weight, and shows how corrupt the system is. The soundtrack is also astounding having a nice amount of light beats mixed together with mystery tones that really makes playing this game feel like the mystery game that it is. If you enjoy either franchise, I'd suggest looking into this game, and for those that enjoy both, it's a must!

Fun crossover that I wish focused more on Ace Attorney. Wasn't a huge fan of the Layton investigations but the trials made up for it. The setting was a huge plus as well. The writers had a lot of fun with the special episodes.

they should have used the concept of everyone being in each others art styles

Never played a Layton game but had played practically every Ace Attorney game prior to this game's launch and I remember really enjoying my time with it. It was dumb and pulled plot twists out of thin air, but coming off of Ace Attorney 5, I was just happy to have Phoenix and Maya back.

It turns out I don't like Layton games, because everything I disliked in this game came from the Layton side.

Neither the best Layton nor the best Ace Attorney game, but a fine blend of both, even if the plot grows a bit silly by the end.

This game has a lot of flaws but it has Layton and Pheonix Wright pointing together so it's great

This reminds me of a bunch of puzzles I didn't care for. The multiple witnesses on the stand gimmick was fun though.

idc what anyone says, this game has an aesthetic that i dig

Lots of fanservice, very well made. However the story is really really lackluster.

Hands down the worst ace attorney game I've ever played. The game requires an absurd level of suspension of belief to accept the twists at the end.

genuinely enjoyed this game a lot when i played it. found it fun and engaging. most likely why i liked it so much was because i enjoy both franchises a lot and was excited to see they made a game together. i found the story interesting and have nostalgia for it. i know it's flawed but i still find it charming. really want to play again and update this review when i do :)

It being a crossover can have many things go right or wrong, but this one definitely went right. While the story isn't as complete when it comes compared to their respective series, the gameplay - characters - environment - and music more than makes up for the story, which I didn't even describe as bad, it's still really good!!

Def recommend for the fans it's targeting

Really fun, this is what an ideal crossover should be, doesn't flatten the personalities of the characters.

Too bad the twist kind of sucks

don't remember much but i don't like fantasy settings

Fun Ace Attorney gameplay. Meh Layton gameplay. Crappy plot twists at the end.
