Very enjoyable Sonic game, with some surprisingly functional high speed 3D gameplay. The 'Daytime-Unleashed' format of these later Sonic games has been a step in the right direction for the series. Controls are decent mostly, plus the double jump helps greatly in making corrections. There's still input delay to deal with, moreso since the game's capped at 30FPS. Story's finally lighthearted too instead of cringe-worthy. Not necessarily funny 100% of the time, but at least they're on the right track now.
I borrowed this game from my neighbor as a kid and didn't give it back. I didn't do it because I wanted his game, we just drifted apart as friends after that point. It never felt right just to go to his house simply to return a, at that point, old video game. He lived 4 houses down from me for years after that, and I still never gave it back. I feel guilt every time I look at my shelf.
