I was quite disappointed with this game after I finally got around to playing it. The humor didn't really click with me and the gameplay is just a looooot of buisy work. I can see how it can be enjoyable in certain contexts, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I'm not sure what I expected, but it wasn't this.
A childhood classic that's still fun. Until you decide to 100% it. Then you have to do the "super story" for each episode, which gets really boring.
Technically, my childhood classics were the original two games, but this is essentially the same with slightly different bonus content and an extra level in Episode 2.

As a kid, I wasn’t really into Star Wars. But I still got extremely addicted to this game due to how great it is. The fact that the game had Lego in the title may seem silly but I am very confident that everyone who played it loved it.
The game essentially followed the plot of the Star Wars trilogy and the prequel trilogy. You got to play as many classic characters in Lego form and traverse through the classic story of Star Wars. There was no dialogue in the game but all the iconic scenes were reenacted perfectly with Lego characters. It is honestly really surprising how they were able to tell the story through Lego.
Gameplay wise, you enter each chapter through a hub area set in that bar where you meet Han Solo. It is a really nice hub world as all the characters you unlock would be wandering around as well. You can even start a fight with everyone which is really funny. With the bar music playing in the background, the hub world is extremely nice and implemented well.
For the actual gameplay, the game was essentially based on combat and puzzle solving. There are also some platforming sections but I don’t remember them to be too challenging. Aside from the main quest, there are a lot of things to explore in each chapter that will award you with more coins or some other stuff. Combat is fun as each character who you can use for combat has their own specialty. You can get through the levels in many different ways using the given resources. The game was really fun to play and I was constantly hooked by it.
The only complaint I have about the game is its length. Sure, the more the merrier right? But many sections actually feel like the game was intentionally trying to extend gameplay time by panning out segments. It wasn’t terrible but man I remember it would take a very long time to get through some of the chapters. The issue isn’t so bad, however, as the gameplay itself was really good.
I liked this game a lot and can’t believe that I somehow forgot about it when I was making my backlog. Writing this brought back so many great memories and it makes me want to replay the game now!
