The mission-based "gameplay" can be a little disruptive, but I assure you that it feels right at home with the portable nature of this game.
So, even if you feel like it's not a true entry of the Luigi's Mansion saga, as a standalone game is spectacular.
Overall, it's a must-play for 3DS users.

way weaker than the first one way more linear and less fun in general. ghost designs were way more "friendly" and i didnt like it all that much

First Luigi's Mansion I played and was decent - the Polterpup is cute and the game is made well. Not sure how well the mission structure worked but also kind of made sense given the game was on a handheld
A wonderful sequel to the GC game. Having multiple mansions allowed it to be super creative and I overall enjoyed the mission structure, especially for a portable game.
I remember being stuck on the level with all the clocks for a long time lmao
I didn't like this game as much originally, but it has grown on me over time. A lot of the mechanics are pretty cool, but I wasn't totally a fan of the level based layout. Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience.

I spent so much time playing this game since I always wanted to play the series but didn't have a gamecube. Probably one of the coolest multiplayer modes ever, they cooked with that shit
