i suck at fighters but lemme tell you that the night i started and finished labrys' story in that game has lodged itself in my brain so comfortably. I don't know if I'd love it now, but I loved it 12 years ago, and it's why I love this game.

Elizabeth, too, she's like so perfectly eccentric in this game, even compared to 3. Loved the glow up.

The first 2D fighter I wanted to grind and get good at. Helped start my love of puppet characters (shoutouts Shadow Labrys), great spritework, and the OST slaps.

My investment in fighting games starts and ends with the story mode. The story mode here is very well done, and Labrys is a standout addition to the cast going forward. Additionally, the game looks really good, with the animated character sprites being some of the most fluid I've seen from Arcsys.
