An amazing game and a step up from Binding Blade in terms of story and characters. I like how each of your units have some role in the story and it makes them feel like actual characters, much like in Genealogy, Echoes, and Three Houses. This game's story is a great extension to Binding Blade's story and I think both are incomplete without the other. For the gameplay, it's the same as in Binding Blade but I like that each map has different objectives to keep things fresh. The only negative thing that I have for this game is Lyn's slow tutorial chapters. I know why they did that and it's great for newcomers to the series, but for veteran players, it can feel restrictive at times for your first playthrough.
This game is commonly derided as being the most 'generic' Fire Emblem game, which I don't think is very fair. The worldbuilding, storyline (especially villain motives) and the general atmosphere of the game is far removed from its brethren. Still one of the most content-rich games in the series, to boot, so there's always plenty more to come back to.
Lyn's story being a glorified and force tutorial sucks, however. There's no denying that.

I had a pretty good time playing this game actually. I was unsure how I would feel about it before getting started since these types of games aren't usually my jam. It's not as hardcore as I thought, at least on normal mode. I think the difficulty for me as an inexperienced player was good until the last map which, while possible, felt really sudden.
I don't think very highly of the random stat gains. I understand that it adds a bit of variance but I dislike the idea that units you like can be rendered mediocre. I also understand the stakes that come from having permadeath but I'm always just gonna restart if I lose someone I deem important. As a result it's just more of an annoyance.
I love the sprite work and all the animations. The music is pretty average overall, but there are songs here and there that I enjoyed. The story is presented like 90% through conversation which made it hard for me to get invested. Too many places and names for me to keep track of so I eventually just started skimming or skipping. I got the general idea though and I'm very indifferent to it but it's not that important to me.
Playing this takes a lot out of me, and it feels like a commitment. I wouldn't say I'm a fan now, nor that I am in a hurry to play more. I still found it to be pretty enjoyable and I'm glad I can say I've played a Fire Emblem game.

Excited to finally finish one of these at last with a nice entry in the series!
What starts as a traveling tactician teaming up with the last surviving member of a village turns into a fight against a dark conspiracy to flood the world with dragons. You amass a small army that fights in tiles against different foes with some impressive animation for a GBA game.
My main complaint is that there's a support system for chatting amongst your teammates that I frankly found not clear. Having played a decent chunk of awakening (but didn't finish it), I found that system to be much easier but I know this came out well before so I'll cut it some slack.

Despite most of the enemy units in this game being scrubs, I feel like the maps are just so good and fun to play on that it made this my most replayed game.
I also really like the cast and the supports they share. Just a shame that the story is full of rather egregious plot holes and generally relies on the lack of attention payed by the player.
