The presentation is spectacular but mechanically it fails to have any identity beyond a Crash Bandicoot clone. It's also very on the easy side and it doesn't quite recreate Crash's controls the best. The Dreamcast version is visually a bit better than the N64 version but both are very serviceable for its cartoony aesthetic.

better crash game than wrath of cortex

One of the best Crash clones out there
For my Portuguese readers: O Donald quando perde vida parece que diz foda-se

Maybe I want to be blinded by nostalgia, maybe there's nothing wrong with it actually.

THE GREATEST GAME EVER FUCKING MADE YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
but being fr its a ok game but has a lot of charm especially the n64 version

A dull un-inspired platforming game that copies the crash formula. I would recommend this game for kids because they'll get amused by it, but if you'd really want another game with the crash formula.. its better to stick with the bandicoot himself.

This Kingdom Hearts prequel is pretty solid for Crash clone on easy difficulty. I think I would have loved it as a kid

Was basically my Crash shoe-filler while I had my Nintendo 64.

It adds some extra mechanics to the formula, nothing crazy. Probably one of the best Disney licensed games of that era strange enough. The weird thing is that it did use it's linear 3D map design as an advantage, adding a lot of verticality to it compare to Crash Bandicoot's mostly flat designed levels.

Not the best platformer but, far from being the worse.

There are countless adaptations of this game.

Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers is an above-average Crash Bandicoot clone starring everyone's favorite pantsless waterfowl Donald Duck. The gameplay is identical to the PS1 era Crash games, right down to the iconic "run towards the screen while a giant enemy/thing tries to squish you" levels. But while the game is derivative, it makes the smart choice to keep the fun of early Crash Bandicoot and leave out the frustration. I'd go so far as to say it plays better than the first Crash Bandicoot game.

Goin' Quackers is the rare game both kids and adults can play on an equal level. While there is some trial and error and a few difficulty spikes, the experience is mostly breezy and enjoyable. Running down corridors while bopping and punching enemies feels great and the music & sound are above average for a licensed game. While the voice acting is limited, I was very impressed they made the effort to recruit A-List VO talent like Clarence Nash, Tress MacNeille, June Foray and Frank Welker. It really felt like the creators were fans of Donald Duck cartoons and comics, with lots of references to his past misadventures in the background.

My main criticisms are twofold; Goin' Quackers limited lives system forces the player to save after every level or risk losing all their progress if they get a Game Over. This would be forgivable if you didn't have to backtrack to the hub lab and sit through 2 animations and a loading screen to get there. Also the graphics are rough, blurry even by N64 standards. This game was ported to a lot of different consoles during its release, and I'm sure they had to cut a few graphical corners to get it running on a cartridge based system. Still a very fun game for platformer fans and Donald Duck enthusiasts alike.

Everyone had Crash Bandicoot as kids, except for me, DOnald was my Crash. Unironically this was one of the only videogame that my father respected "as a piece of art".... I honestly don't know what he was smoking, but it is a fun bonding memory I have of him in my youth.

Honestly just a cute little game that doesn't do nothing wrong except legit just copy pasting the mechanics from Crash.... but it does something creative regarding Donald himself: has a platfroming hero, Donald grows anger if hit by an enemy, meaning that for the next seconds he will turn into a cartoony cloud and is able to beat up anyone that meets on his path. That is a really cute way to express the character of Donald and it makes for a cool showcase of the life bar.
The bosses and presentation are also creative too: Beagle boys and Magica De Spell shows up as bosses, Gladstone Gander is your "rival", Gyro Gearloose's lab is the hubworld..... if you are a fan of these older disney character this game will give you a giggle... but in terms of gameplay and overall experience there are longer and better adventures overall.

Also the hand that chases you in those chase levels scared the heck outta me as a kid... I dunno why but screw that hand.

this is one of the best crash bandicoot clones ive played

I remember getting the small demo CD in a Donald magazine. Got a hold of the full version via a classmate. It was all about this game for a while.

Always had many PC Disney stuff also because of a collab with a famous italian ice cream giving demos included. You know, frozen. Thank god they stopped not much later because it was really stupid.

Always kept redoing the same two levels (city and a haunted house) but always remember having fun.
It's still what it is: a Crash Bandicoot clone not nearly as great (as Crash 2 and Warped, that is, I would still enjoy this better than og PS1 Crash 1).

Even though my step father usually beat every hard boss battle for me, neither of us could win against Milla Magia (Magica De Spell).

This is Rayman 2 mixed with Crash Bandicoot. This is a very solid game overall.

pretty dull and samey throughout, despite being presented with a mix of linear 3d, 2d, and face-towards-the-camera-run-away-from-something levels. i usually don't care for that last type, but they end up more engaging than the other styles and only appear at half the frequency, so it helps keep things fresh. i went ahead and did all the time trials despite its mediocrity, because why not. its tolerable enough with a video playing in the background. you unlock alternate outfits for your troubles, and they each have their own idle animation, which is a nice touch. unexpectedly, the bosses were the highlight for me. they're all pretty decent and unique. there are five different versions of this fucking game. i kind of want to play them all.

Mesma versão do Dreamcast, porém a 30fps. Não muda em nada na jogatina.

amazing, 10/10, the game of my childhood, definetely a good game yep
