Yeah, it's Puyo, alright. Except this time I can't read anything!
This one actually introduced a lot of the series' staple gameplay features such as neutralizing chains, but it does feel pretty vanilla going back to it nowadays, and it's also super short if you're just trying to beat the single-player campaign. Still, it's a good puzzler and a good Puyo game, worth playing as always.

Just more cuteness from the original series that started a very cute addictive puzzle game.

have you ever wanted to play a very fun match-the-colours puzzle game with adorable visuals and great character designs in which you get to destroy a dead child, a hot mermaid, a sheep, a harpy, and some other extremely weird looking shit? well have i got just the thing! roblox. puyo puyo 2 is ok, i liked the part where i could understand what the characters were saying
An extra half star over the first because they bothered to fan translate this one, not that it matters that much. “I’m a wacky anime creature, prepare to get trounced!” or some variation thereof before each level.
I really hope one of these in the series gets to be a little easier soon. There’s gotta be some golden mean between “little widdle baby game uwu” and “welcome to level two, ready to get skullfucked?”

Super Puyo Puyo 2 was a very fun puzzle game to play and was my first introduction to this kind of puzzle game, although the mean bean boss in Sonic Mania was a little demo for me haha.
Having grown up with Mean Bean Machine, it's nice to see a version of the game that takes that basis and ups it just a little! Presentation is very solid, having two 'next' previews instead of one allows for more flexibility, counter chaining creates an actual back-and-forth... I would say this is the first time where I really "got" Puyo as a concept! AI is still rather rudimentary once you lock in and understand what the game's asking of you, and I found it defeating itself before I could do the really cool chain I was ready to unleash which made me sad, but it's a solid, fun romp that makes me want to check out the modern versions of the game! Which is good! I like that!

Well, it’s one of those games where blocks rain down from the heavens and you have to match a bunch of the same color and make them disappear. Introducing the Offset rule, Giving you a bit of a bounceback against the Garbage Puyo getting sent your way is a great addition. Alongside the All-Clear Bonus and Double Rotation making their intros in this game. which all became staples of the series going forwards. The soundtrack in this version is also better than the Genesis, Arcade and Saturn versions i don't make the rules (i do)
