You know ? I love videogames. I love how much they can express while being creative and angaging. All of this with the magic of interaction.

But when i play this thing i just want to break my head against a wall everytime i lose a life , knowing that i have to replay another god awful level. There isn't a thing that feels good except for Toad when he runs. The game shaped a lot of good things that we see nowdays in all the Super Mario games , even the manline ones. The game in concept is actually filled with wacky and original ideas. For the most part i liked them but Birdo. I hate that character design and i think it's a curse. Levels are filled with vegetables to grab and throw. Same thing for enemies , you have to grab them instead of just jumping on their heads. It doesn't seem but to me this mechanic made every level feel slow. And don't get me started on the numerous sections where you have to dig sand because that is one of the most bullshit level design ideas i've seen after the Chibi Robo Zip-Lash Wheel Spin.

I'm sorry to whoever liked this , but i think this was one of the worst game i've ever touched.

i liked this game tbh!! its very cute and i like the way luigi runs when he jumps

Actually extremely fun and solid game with replayability in multiple characters, just wish the game had infinite continues, I find it extremely silly you only get 2

Better than the first game but not as good as third one.

This was probably fun, Idfk.

Another one I didn't beat, However got near the end so I guess thats fine enough.
I kinda suck at this one lol

SUPER MARIO BROS. 2 BABY KING IS BACK KING IS BACK KING IS BACK

starts off nice and simple and then it remembers its a nes game and begins to throw what i like to call ''the bs'' at you with some unavoidable damage and stingy extra hitpoints.
still its a cute little adventures, just don't see myself beating it outside of a emulator, despite actually owning a cartridge on my old dusty nes

Did you know that Super Mario Bros. 2 is actually a reskin of Doki Doki Panic? 😳

Did You Know Gaming? Did you know that Super Mario Bros. 2 is a reskin of Doki Doki Panic?

Another nice fun Mario romp! Got stuck early on after not realizing there was a high jump you could do from crouching, but afterward this game was mostly a breeze. Definitely not as brutally hard as the first game, but still pretty challenging with some really tricky puzzles and enemy placements, definitely abused the rewind a fair bit here. I'm happy Peach was playable and a nice easy mode character as I'm not the best at Mario, and it was cool to see where all of her really fun moveset from Smash Bros. came from as I used to play her there often.

Overall a nice change of pace from the usual Mario formula, and I like how there's no timer, really helpful given this game has a lot of puzzles you gotta figure out on how to progress.

I know it's not originally a Mario game. I know it's originally based on mascots for some sort of TV promotion. Whatever. What I didn't know was how much the level design of Super Mario Bros 2 starts to weave puzzles into its platforming the further along you go. It completely took me by surprise and I loved it.

ScrewAttack made everyone think this gem is dogshit bc its essentially a rom hack. This game is better than most of the games.

I was playng the All-Stars Version and i discovered the game actually has warps. (Yeah discovered by accident because i didn't knew that).
Soooo i told myself to try seriously and finish it and I DID IT. Does this change my initial thoughts on the game ?

No it's still ass...

this game is very wacky. its worth playing but definitely the worst of the main 3 mario games on nes (excluding lost levels)

I like this one slightly less than the original, but it's still a fun time. I've beaten it on a Mario only run and a Peach only run, and both times were super cool.

I think Mario 2 is one of the more fun Mario games, but it is definitely very different. I like some of the platforming challenges and the way players can choose their character, and how much this changes things. It does get stupid in terms of how some challenges become impossible to solve but it's a fun game otherwise.

2 (The Lost Levels)

Super Mario Bros.

What a blessing they took a non-Mario game and turned it into one of Mario's most inventive games ever.

what we got in america because smb2(japan) was seen as too hard

but at least smb2(japan) has unlimited continues you sack of shit game!!! getting to wart with your last life and continue and dying is one of the most heartbreaking moments in video gaming... and it happened to me on my last play through

good thing there are warps in this game too

played this many times, it still has fantastic music and charming graphics and character/enemy designs that have influenced every game thats come next... which is weird when you consider this whole game is a dream so how are shyguys popping up in other places??? BS!!!

Who would’ve thought an official rom hack would turn out to be a way better sequel than the actual sequel?

The first time I played Mario 2, I was surprised at how fun it was. It holds up much better than Mario 1 and is still really solid today.

The terrible Mario 1 physics are gone and game plays so much better for it. All the characters are much faster and a little more slippery feeling which makes the platforming a lot faster paced and fun.

The game looks really nice and the new characters are really cool. I tried to use everyone a few times, but I mostly stuck to Toad and Mario. The new moveset takes some getting used to at first, but they provide a nice variety in platforming by allowing the game to have vertical levels. The soundtrack is really nice too (although I wish there were a few more tracks).

The game still has some jank, but it's nowhere near game ruining. For example, in most circumstances, you cannot hit the run button to prepare for a jump when standing on a floating projectile. I also never got fully used to the throwing physics in this game, there were many instances where I wanted to throw it further, but I guess I wasn't moving fast enough for the game to register it as a throw, so mario would just play whatever project/object I was holding in front of him. Additionally, if I was trying to throw something mid air while underneath a platform, Mario would place the projectile on the upper platform instead of throwing it at the boss or enemy. The blast radius of the bombs were a little janky at times too. The bombs bounce and if they bounce a small distance off a wall or if they bounce up before exploding a bombable floor piece, the wall/floor are not gonna explode your target.

It's not too hard to adjust to these issues, but it does take some time, especially if you've played a lot of Mario maker 2 like I have. That game fine tuned the Mario bros 2 controls and physics to fix some of the jank from the original game, but the gameplay/physics differences is nowhere near as drastic between MM2 and the Mario bros 1.

Overall, Mario 2 is still a really good time. It holds up much better than you would expect and controls so much better than it's two predecessors. It's still not perfect, but it obviously stands out as being unique from the other 2D Mario games and is still very much worth playing today.

Diferente mas uma delicia de jogar.

Nothing to do with the original. Doki doki panic what is that?
