I usually like to do fairly in-depth reviews about games I finish, especially ones that I play for a while, and especially especially for ones I enjoy. But in the case of Tears of the Kingdom, I find myself completely unsure of what to say because there is simply too much that is phenomenal about TotK.
The game is undoubtedly a masterpiece and very possibly the best game that's ever been made. It is definitely the greatest Zelda game ever made.
Never have I been so happy to be so constantly distracted from my goal. Never have I experienced so many varying ways to accomplish the challenges placed in front of you.
It's all been said by people far more eloquent than I. Everyone should play this game.

Tears of the Kingdom might genuinely be the best game I have ever played. I didn't think you could go much higher than BotW but this improves on every aspect: the characters, the dungeons, the story, the gameplay, and so much more. Tears of the Kingdom finds a way to keep you constantly engaged up to the very end, with so much freedom to decide how you want to approach every problem. I can't say I wanted more, but I never wanted it to stop. An instant favorite, and a modern classic.
Brilliant follow up to BOTW. Finds the most creative solutions to some of the issues I had with its predecessor. The new abilities are all fun to use and feel tailored to give you the most interesting ways of engaging with the world and its denizens.
The Switch holds strong while running the game but it’s no secret that this would have been better suited as a launch game on the next Nintendo system.

Man, I feel a little empty now. I honestly didn't think this game would replicate the same feelings I had during breath of the wild. But it knocked it out of the park.
While this game does have some flawed elements, like how it is using the same map, performance issues and ports a lot of the same issues that existed in BOTW. It is still a magnificent game and a worthy sequel to BOTW.

+ Expands upon Breath of the Wild in ways I didn't think even possible, and makes so many aspects of that game seem undercooked and basic in comparison.
+ Manages to both build upon the open creative nature of its predecessor and also gives more focus and structure to the narrative and more linear sections of the game.
+ It's quite frankly a miracle that this game not only works as it should, but looks fantastic while doing so. Any minor framerate issues can be forgiven in favour of its gorgeous art style and quite frankly insane number of complex building and physics systems.
+ A staggering amount of content and changes to the map mean this Hyrule is just as, if not more, compelling to explore as BOTW despite taking place in the same physical space.

Definitely a game that I think everyone should play or at least try out, a very beautiful aesthetic, everything is very well done.
At the same time that I was enchanted by the fact of discovering each part of the story, I confess that I got a chill in my stomach being on a boat with that past and alone.
The gameplay glitched a bit with the controller, sometimes I couldn't open the book and ended up having to do it with the keyboard. I also thought that ALL the deaths would have some deep connection between them and that the story would be heavier, involving all the crew members of the boat, but this variety of deaths and the multiple plotlines in one place was very well done.
The game had me spending a good amount of time trying to figure out what I should do, it immersed me in an incredible experience that made me feel like I was in a detective book or something of the sort.
Definitely a work of art!
