Rance X is a venture to ace all the previous set-up made over the course of decades by attempting to rearrange its iconic joyful atmosphere into a cruel setting filled with high stakes, all this while going through the hurdle of dealing with an ambitious project that greatly overpowers its budget.

The result for me was, easily the best gameplay I have experienced within alicesoft, be it in depth, variety or creativity.
But, sadly I did not feel like the stakes were as properly delivered as I had hoped, some of the intended impact could not reach me with as powerful a feeling as I thought it meant to, alongside the pacing and length of some parts, I could not help but feel that it ends up clashing with the enormous wager that is within the game's story, which ended up, unhappily for me, contributing so that the parts of the game where I truly felt emotionally engaged were quite few for how much of a behemoth the story is.
Otherwise, this isn't to mean that the experience was ever close to being just good, no it was always greater or better, as I was mostly having fun with only the best gameplay alicesoft ever made, and always experiencing the usual joy this entire series can offer no matter the game, it is truly a delight to experience.
With that, I can say that I liked Rance X, liked quite a lot.

However,
I'm rating this based solely on the last 20 hours of this massive 200+ hours videogame.
Because that I did not like, I loved.

I believe anyone who has played enough of the 3D sonic games has had in mind their ideal sonic game, has criticized most 3D sonics and thought up which mechanics they loved the most along the years, which you wish were kept, and maybe had dreams of what could be.

Well, this game is it. It's the ideal sonic game, you have momentum, physics, moderate boosts, power-ups, a good battle-system that knows to not overstay its welcome, the soundtrack is fantastic, the level design is otherwordly, the game is made for you to go through the levels with speed that begets you like a lover yet as you pass through the levels in less than 5 minutes you will instantly realize how many methods there are to go through a single level, I could talk about the level design for hours, but it doesn't stop there, the story itself is also not to be underestimated, and, overall I simply cannot compliment this game enough.

Left me satisfied like I haven't been with a game in a long time.

Found it to have a rather slow start but midway through time becomes more a thing you question rather than something you experience.

Much like passing your testicles through a potato grinder, this game is painful.
Except slightly worse.

This is the best shit i've had in years

Allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go.

Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it's a peach of cake.

WHY IS EVERY MATCH SO INTENSE

Just going to post my steam review:

This game is way better than it has any right to be, even more for its price.

I initially bought it because it was extremely cheap and expected absolutely nothing out of it, except maybe getting my rpg fix, as I would most likely enjoy anything that isnt too bad.
And at first I thought it was exactly that, felt like it was a generic story in a underground game that no one would really care, but then as it developed, Sins Of The Demon showed that they werent afraid of making things end in a grim way, many times refusing to use the good generic solution where everything ends happily ever after, which helps in developing its characters even further and coming out as a good tragedy worthy of anyone's time. More so, i'd like to mention i'm amazed at the fact parts of the soundtrack are original.

I would also like to point out that there are places in this game where you will explore and the only thing you will gain out of it is pure lore, it is an especially nice touch, and makes the experience way richer, would personally recommend this to anyone who wants to just enjoy a good story while exploring the world.
