I'm a simple man. I see wrestling game with Juggalos and a 2000s Nu Metal/Pop Punk soundtrack and I play.

TNA Impact released around the time where TNA was probably at their peak with one of the greatest rosters in pro wrestling, shows being viewed by millions of people with people even hoping and thinking that TNA would at one point become an actual competitor to the WWE which why TNA's first video game was highly anticipated since it's not only TNA's first game but it was also the first major non WWE game in quite a while. TNA Impact released in 2008 and received luke warm reactions at best and is nowadays even viewed by some as a "bad" wrestling game. the game's roster selction while offering a lot of TNA's strongest draws at the time is a bit too slim and there are no female wrestlers found the matchtypes are also very bare bones with only 9 matchtypes that also don't offer a whole lot since every match in theory is a hardcore match so no DQ's though the only weapons at your disposal are a couple of chairs that lay on the ground. no tables and no chairs. the abscence of content is only a little understandable since it was TNA's first game and the first major non WWE in years so both TNA and Midway couldn't be quite sure how successful the game could become which is why I get that Midway tried to play things safe since every dollar you'd spend on feauteres could be a dollar you'd potentially lose. still a ladder match and having the ability to also use tables wouldn't have hurt. plus there aren't nearly enough moves in the game. a lot of wrestlers share at least 2 or 3 moves which does make them all play very similar to play. even though TNA Impact is very lacking in content and was very much begging for more variaty I still think it gets way too much hate since it's far from being bad. visually the game is simply stunning even today, the core gameplay is despite the lack of movesets, matchtypes and things of possibility still very smooth since it runs on 60fps and fun even. it's very arcady and I love it for that you can even catch people mid air with a dropkick when they try to pull off a top rope move which is awesome and it surprises me that no game prior gave you that ability. the moves also all feel so impactful, chairshots are straight up nasty with the way the wrestlers sell them, the ultimate x matchtype is also a lot of fun and probably one of more unique ones since no other wrestling game feautered it (probably bc it's a TNA original made for their X division so it wouldn't make sense to feauture it in a non TNA match or game), the story mode while feeling like it was written by Vince Russo while he was on a heavy drinking binge is also actually enjoyable. despite the difficulty spikes and the lack of arenas (which why TNA? like c'mon you got PPVs like No Surrender and Victory Road yet none of them are featured in the game) it still offeres an entertaining story that doesen't take itself seriously and the reversal system while unrefined is really cool with the player being able to reverse reversals there are moments where you will see a chain of reversals happening which is awesome shame though that timing on a lot of these is weird. TNA Impact had a lot of potential there are many puzzle pieces of a fantastic wrestling hidden throughout. puzzle pieces which could have been put together as one in a sequel which at one point was planned but unfortunately Midway declared for bankruptcy not long after however some of that potential was realized since the same development team then went to work on WWE All Stars which has TNA Impacts DNA all over it. TNA Impact is a flawed but earnest attempt which in my eyes didn't fail. is it as good as the WWE games that came out during the same console generations or even as great as the WWE games that came out the generation before that? no. but it remains a very unique game of it's kind that can deliver the Smackdown or rather the Impact!

It's nice to ocasionally have a fun, bonkers, PS2/PS3 inspired action game that has no microtransaction or other modern gaming sins. just a decently fun single player experience that doesn't take itself serious.

I used to praise The Last Of Us Part 2 even through all the backlash the game received even before launch. it's still a technically impressive and polished game but as the years went by and with my views and values evolving I cannot love this game anymore espicially after heaving learned what Neil Druckmann's motivations were making the game. I even go as far to say that I despise The Last Of Us Part 2 now and that I deeply regret that I bought it on launch unintentionally supporting Neil's disgusting values.

The Bouncer was obviously more of a technical demonstration of the PS2's power than a game to tease the level of quality the console's library would have though despite all that it's still actually kind of awesome. It's for an roughly 2 Hour hardware demonstration incredibly soulful and though it's as a brawler not that refined it's still really fun and once you get enough upgrades with the characters it's a true blast. It's a shame that The Bouncer never was meant for anything more it seems. There would be more than enough room for a sequel espicially with the amount of story each character has (Volt in particular). The Bouncer maybe short, unrefined and ultimately just a tech demo but it's still cool nonetheless and I recommend people espicially those who like games like Final Fight to actually give it a shot.
7/10

Max Payne 1 and 2 are simply amazing. so fun to play and so engaging to pay attention to. they're like interactable John Woo movies and the writing is simply brilliant. Max Payne 1 has some of the best writing I've ever seen and Max Payne 2's story was beautiful. Sam Lake is is so underrated it's incredible one of the best writers in the gaming world. my body is ready for the upcoming remakes.

I hate Ian Watkins but Rooftops is actually still a banger.

even the crappy PC port of this moderatly budgeted 2008 masterpiece is leagues above the crappy reboot in every single aspect and it's beyond incredible. Sad that the series is currently just sitting on life support before they'll eventually pull the plug because Saints Row used to be so cool.

One of the few truly perfect video games

2018

Terrible fucking console port holy shit who thought this was acceptable?

2006

What an experience.
Prey is such a visually gorgeous, exciting and innovative game.
It uses it's Si Fi setting very creatively not just in design but also gameplay wise. it had portals a year before Portal and anti gravity months before Mario Galaxy. the portals and shifting gravity also make for some cool puzzle and dynamic combat encounters. the narritive is also surprisingly well told and the game has no fear demonstrating the cruel horror of the savage antagonists like you would never see some of that stuff today that Prey has shown and I also love how this game screams 2006 with the awesome jukebox that just plays the finest music. Prey deserved so much better it's so unfortunate we never got to see more of that world.

Here to hope that someone someday leaves an USB containing an functional and throughly developed build of the game so that a dedicated group can finish it and release the magic that was taken from us.

interesting to see how many leftovers from the 01 build were used for this DLC they even had the donkey from the mule ride chilling outside the burning bush. also incredible how much more better this is than the main game. sure it's short, still suffers from the general illnesses from the main game and killiing off Dr.Proton so soon was a damn shame. still though it's a huge step up in terms of gameplay, design, character and writing. it actually feels like a Duke game at heart. if only they used this as the basis of the actual DNF than maybe Duke would have had a better fate.

I don't think there will ever be a game like Postal. it's way too vulgar, unapologetically juvenile and too special to ever be replicated. Postal 4 may be not be the masterpiece in bad taste like Postal 2 but it's still such a fun game that does capture the essence of Postal.
