A really fun entry in the series that changes up the usual formula in some enjoyable ways.

I liked it more than Mania

Ohshima stays on top, we did it, Balanbros

I wish this sold better so we could have gotten remakes of the other NES games in this style.

Really fun and charming, visually it's really well-done, and the new additions are great. Probably one of my favorite Mega Man games.

This was my first time playing one of the "IGAvania" style games, as I'd only really played the classic-style ones before. Overall, it's a great game, though part of me still kind of prefers the more linear classic style of Castlevania.

The exploration was really fun, and I felt the different abilities were a really cool way to unlock things. However, the second half of the game didn't really resonate with me as much as the first; the Reverse Castle felt kind of underwhelming when I visited it and found it was mostly just the normal map but literally flipped upside down. Regardless, it's a really good game, but left me wanting more.

Playing this after Rondo of Blood feels odd, because elements of it simultaneously feel more advanced and less advanced at the same time

Overall it's fun though

One of my favorite NES titles, honestly. It can be a bit frustrating at times, but I still love the hell out of it.

I like this game for what it is, and it's certainly not BAD, but just a bit obtuse and somewhat frustrating at times. However, there's a lot of really cool design choices and once you figure out how it wants you to think, it's a lot of fun. Incredibly ambitious for its time, and I can respect the developers for trying to make something so big in scope beyond the first one even if the tech wasn't quite there yet.

It's really good, but I can't help but wish it let you have more than one companion at a time

I want Sypha AND Grant, dammit

Taito, I beg of you

Bring back the chain reaction mechanic

I went in REALLY trying to like this given I'm a huge fan of the series, but it changes the Bubble Bobble formula too much and not in a particularly good or fun way.

Probably the best of the mainline Bubble Bobble games from the 2000s, it's a solid remake with some fun new additions.

This game is actually pretty decent if you don't play the bugged North American release.

Not quite as good as the arcade titles, but still enjoyable enough.

Fun, but really really difficult in places.

I think it could have benefited a LOT from a level select or a better way to continue, the minigames are kind of frustrating, but overall, it's an enjoyable addition to the series, even if not perfect.

The art direction is really nice though, and I like the addition of Bubu as a character.
