"I'm sorry"

- Yoko Taro when a fan told him he liked Drakengard 3

the framerate was actually intentional in order to convey the inconsistent speeds at which taro’s brain operates

This game is baffling to think about. If you separate its parts you get a fantastic soundtrack, incredible gunplay, great voice acting and really good visuals but then you see how they put it together and it's like they made it their mission to ruin all of it.

The gameplay to cutscene ratio is completely retarded especially at the start where you walk two steps and get assaulted with a 4-9 minute cutscene if it wasn't for James McCaffery (Rest in peace) carrying them on his back I would've honestly stopped playing long before the finish line.

It gets better later on but they still pry away controls very often and it's annoying. The filters the motherfucking filters everywhere making every cutscene an eyesore. I wouldn't mind them if they weren't spammed so frequently.

The rest of the game is actually pretty good it's just those major issues I listed above that drags down what might've been one of the best shooters ever made.

Silent Hill: Downpour is the eighth Silent Hill game in this wonderful series that have only three and half good games (being a SH fan is rough).

Downpour suffers from the plague that is called 7th gen gaming, and on top of that its using Unreal Engine 3!!! Now which is in my opinion the worst team up since Hitler and Mussolini.

Visually this game lacks any colours and has character models that look like they are made out of plastic. The enemy design, if you can call it that, are just filthy monster people covered in Unreal Engine 3 looking dirt. Some monsters look like they are big sperm that has arms and legs.

Combat is floaty and feels awful and somehow manages to be even less responsive than RDR2. You can pick up furniture, construction/farming tools, sticks, rocks and guns and you can break the game by throwing the mentioned weapons at the enemy. Hell I don't think I fired my gun except for the last area and a few times near the end because I got bored.

I don't remember any track save for one from SH1 and a Frank Sentra song . According to my friend the soundtrack is good (liars).

The Story exists I guess and its just James story from SH2 without the good writing, pacing, ETC.

The only saving grace for me is Murphy and the Cop woman.
Murphy is short and looks cute and screams funny and I wanna kiss him and hug him. While the Cop woman is cunty enough to be likeable. There was a black mail man that the game kinda forgot about but I liked him.

Overall not a bad game, but not a good game either. a very lukewarm Konami slop of its time that plays by the book far too closely and had a horrible execution for seemly decent and sometimes even great ideas.

6/10.

RIP Nagoshi bozo you done produced your last great game

it really makes you feel like shuhei yoshida

It's Final Showdown. I would've given it 4 or 5 stars if it wasn't more barebones than Final Showdown on ps3 and still a farcry from VF4Evo.

Weird character models, weird lighting, features like replays gone and lobbies are awkward as fuck to get around now. Features that were in previous VFs are now dlc. Inconsistent netcode, inconsistent netcode, inconsistent netcode and inconsistent netcode.

Fine for people who never played the games before and it's nice to get SOME rerelease but other fighting game series had better means of returning to the spotlight.

*Edit: It's nice they added a search functions for rooms but wake me up when they added Type S costumes and Hyper Fighting mode.

You would probably get more dopamine from putting your hand in boiling water than playing this shit.

Listen, do not let the naysayers steer you away from this fucking raw ass game. Once you get used to analog-controlled combat, the game is a poignant Metroidvania with deeper puzzle-solving. I can best describe this as a 2006 Straight to DVD action movie in game form and it's so amazing to see until the credits roll.

While there is some annoying difficulty spikes towards the later half of the game that makes surviving the extreme backtracking the real challenge, It was all worth it for that finale. That final boss goes down as the best final boss I've ever faced in a video game. I'm not being hyperbolic.
