Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a work of art and a platformer masterpiece!
SMG2 is one of the few direct sequels to a Mario 3D Platformer, and for good reason! Coming from its predecessor SMG1, the original game has brought up so many ideas to the table, and the opportunities were limitless. So essencially, Super Mario Galaxy 2 works as a big huge DLC, and that is a good thing!
The original is a fantastic game who has a lot of credit on its own right. But now with many new concepts, challenges and power-ups, the game was expanded greatly from the original, making it stand as the best version of Mario Galaxy!
In this game, level design and creativity takes major stage. Every level is unique, with different gameplay aspects and level design choices. And with that, every single star you look for feels always refreshing and fun to get. Its not a hard game nor a more technical platformer by any means, but it has its challenging stars every so often.
The soundtrack, the art direction, it all leads to this big spectacle of gaming that is the Mario franchise and in this huge, fantastic, videogame. If you got an Wii or Wii U, you MUST play this game. It's an all-time great. And if you don't, emulating could be an alternative way to experience it as well! It's a 10/10 anyday.
