This game is one of the most conflicting Megaman titles I have ever played. The sprites look good. The music is fantastic and I love the boss designs. The story picks up a few weeks after Megaman x 5, which was suppose to be the last C game. So the story feels messy. The back grounds are lazy as in some levels you’ll notice they just copy and pasted the same background sometimes right blest to each other. An example of this is in Commander Yammarks stage where you will see multiple moons just a few inches a way from one another. The level design is a mess with tons of spikes, pitfalls, and other crap to pad out the game. You have to save replies from being possess by the tentacle robots if you don’t get them in time you will lose some powerful upgrades that significantly halt your progress and you can’t go back and redo it. The minute hat tentacle monster takes over the reploid it’s gone from the rest of the game. The game came out only 6 months after x5 in America and it shows. This game feels rushed and unplayable. It’s sad because there are some cool ideas here: awesome armors for X, cool boss design, a story that goes a little deeper than your average game, cool music. But it misses the mark completely. If you are not a hardcore Megaman fan, stay away. If you are, proceed with caution.
