I think the real flaw of this game is that it doesn't satisfy a strategic itch. It's a fault with lots of tactical rpgs. The story lacks drive, the main character doesn't have a visible goal and causes the narrative to feel like its spinning wheels. It's an above average game but has problems that dissuade from a full playthrough.

Sick. I did eventually get bored as it's a repetitive game, but those first hours are soaked in adrenaline.

Balatro is games as poetry. Not a single scrap is left from the cutting room floor. Everything fits perfectly. It really is on the same level as a game like Crazy Taxi. You see it, you want a try, you can't put it down. The kind of purity in games that make my eyes rheumy just thinking about it.

I feel like Aliens: Dark Descent lacks the tactical thinking that would make it engaging and has so many mechanics that distract from what could've been a more interesting game had the developers focused more on gameplay.

It can be tense but comes with seriously annoying things. The game has a death clock in it, good grief. This is not like the OG Xcom where a campaign was randomized and could completed in a reasonable time frame or Majora's Mask where a major mechanic of the game is resetting progress, it's 30 hours. It feels like it totally disrespects the player's time. Ultimately, I quit because I felt I had better games to play.

My first persona game, I get why people like these games so much now. The vibe is incredible due to the aesthetics and music. I will say that the story's non-existent for the first half of the game and then gets compelling. It also has the problem of not being particularly great at anything, the life sim is good enough to soak up time and the combat isn't compelling. Each part just works to distract from the other.

However, it provides such a nice atmosphere it's hard not to enjoy and has a good ending. Overall, an easily recommendable game for someone seeking escapism.

It's a Pokémon game which means if you let it, it will waste your time. I cannot recommend playing this without an emulator even if you have a DS. The fast forward feature and save states will be your best friend. This game isn't difficult but it's extremely tedious. Text will take forever to scroll through, and Pokémon will have long attack animations. I cannot believe the patience I had as a kid to sit through some of this, it's egregious.

The flip side is that the hand eye coordination neurons in my brain activate from drawing circles around moving things. It is so simple yet extremely engaging. The tension that builds as you get close to drawing the final circle is palpable, but this can lead to exasperation. There were plenty of times where I swear I had it only to lose the capture. The Pokémon abilities you can use to augment your captures are varied in effectiveness but add a level of strategy to the game that otherwise would grow stale.

Medal Slug.

Not really, but it has a lot of aesthetics that remind me of the Metal Slug series like the bullet particles and sprite work. It even has a drivable tank in certain sections! The player can also use mounted machine guns.

I had a really good time with this game. It's a simple top down 8-way shooter that doesn't feel hampered by the dpad controls because of the strafe button that lets you aim a direction and move around. There are also multiple loadouts you get at checkpoints with choices that are significantly different. The pistol Panzerschreck combo was a bit too difficult for me to use but the other loadouts are viable. In between on foot segments there are some on rails shooters that feel perfectly balanced to make you feel like you barely survived. There are also some optional stealth sections. Medal Gear.

Overall, a decent challenge with the farmhouse and final mission standing out as the toughest but still very doable. I recommend people who are looking for an arcade shooter to give this a try.

Who is this for? Extreme sports games fans who are looking for a different sport and are willing to put up with some issues. Expect Tony Hawk with a 3D platformer.

Too flawed to be under rated and too unique to be written off. It was developed by the same studio as Tomb Raider and you can tell, the character control feels excellent but wrestling with the camera to navigate the underwhelming stages is no treat. There's a decent amount of fun to be had here, it's weird how satisfying rattling off button combos to do some fancy twirling is.

The PC port is prone to weird audio glitches, I've had a few times where the sprint sound effect continued long after I stopped, and I had to quit the game then relaunch.

There's some fun to be extracted between minutes of monotony.

Don't know how to describe this game but it feels like good shovel ware.

Cut everything out but the mountain man shit and this would be a 5.

I played this game for 24 hours straight and never touched it again.

Venom is perhaps... the sickest fighting game character ever conceived.

The ultimate game for boys' night.

An incredibly addictive game that has you conquering land and building bases that you will manage to craft resources. You will never feel like you have the upper hand due to late game cavalry charges that will ruin your day, this is a good thing. There are dead rising-esque boss enounters across the map and a versatile armory/skill system that gives you a variety of ways to play. This also includes an light RTS war party option where you bring your warriors in on the fun. Also every savefile can send equipment/resources to others meaning you can use a prior game to help your next run.

I don't understand why I love this so much, it's basically everything about the Ubisoft formula that sucks but done right. No story but with gameplay this good you don't need it.

To those who say devs abandoned the game, I get it. I would love to see more content eventually but as is this is a content complete game that can be enjoyed over multiple playthroughs.
