Better than SMT1 in every conceivable way. The atmosphere and the explorable world are also very interesting and cool, from the post-apocalyptic cities of Tokyo Millenium, to the underground world and the demon world.

It goes way beyond the scope and ambition of SMT1, especially with the inclusion of real characters and an actual fleshed-out story.

Game has a lot of really cool moments and set-pieces that make it pretty memorable. My only issue with this game is that it's pretty held back by the gameplay.

Not only are magic attacks (and therefore a good chunk of the demon roster) completely worthless, but at a certain point the game gets pretty much trivialized by AoE guns and nerve bullets, so even to the end of the game the combat is not engaging in the slightest; I beat the final boss by buffing first and then just letting auto-battle do its thing, only stopping to heal every other turn.

All in all, it's definitely a great game that any SMT fan should try out but it requires you to look past a bunch of flaws.

Unironically the best Disgaea game since 2.

This game doesn't reach the gameplay heights of 5 but it more than makes up for it with everything else. The story is a lot of fun and actually somewhat decently written and every character besides Ceefore is pretty loveable.

I own two copies of this game because I'm stupid.

This game doesn't have a good story in the slightest but it probably IS the peak of Disgaea gameplay and that alone makes it a must-play.

A game that asks the brave question: "What if Witch and the Hundred Knight was bad?"

Gone are all the interesting characters and story. The combat has received many adjustments and despite most of them being improvements on paper the combat simply feels worse than it did in the original, especially with your dodge being way worse now for no discernable reason.

Also replacing Harada Takehito as the artist and using a copycat instead is just really dumb and bad.

I miss Bad Company 2 so bad dude.

I once grabbed this game for free off of PS+ and played it for 4 hours straight and then never again.

Fun game at first but becomes extremely dull and boring in about an hour.

However it deserves credit for spawning several imitators that all ended up being superior.

I don't even like Hololive but this is actually just the best vampire survivors clone by far.

This was my first Katamari game and it was a lovely experience.

Pretty fun game with friends but the more recent updates actually kinda suck pretty bad.

Hey this game's a lot of fun.
Controls are certainly pretty jank but I do have a lot of respect for the sole developer of this game and what they managed to achieve.

It's a pretty simple game but it's fun and addicting in short sessions. Always good to come back to it and die a few times.

Better story but massively downgraded gameplay.
