Fnys finished Dead Space
Entering the menu instantly gives you idea of what are you gonna go through. And intro is even better. Very well settles up the ground for our crew and the thrill of exploring dark corridors on abandoned space station. And that intro is probably one of my favorite beginning of video games ever. Very well creates the atmosphere and from time to time got the feeling that developers tried to do some kind of criticism on capitalism, basing on ads on spaceship and FUNCTIONING SHOP on fucking abondended spaceship that ain't even able to communicate with outer world. But idk, maybe I'm just overthinking cuz this theme feels barely touched.
Unfortunetly after around first hour game from adventure/horror becomes RPG and horror isn't terriying anymore. Also story was almost absolutely cut, so everything that's not the beginning and the end lacks the pacing, making the gameplay a bit secondary.
But going through mass of aliens, chopping them with very varied types of weapons is very pleasant. Upgrading gear actually matters and is very straightforward.
Maybe if it had more plot, and more similiar to beginning gameplay without many unimportant mechanics (telekinesis) I would give it a 10. But still very good game and probably I was just expecting something different.

Fnys finished Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Around some 3 years ago my cousin showed me this game saying how unbelivebely cool it is, how great the songs are and how serious and funny at t he same time this game is. Aesthetic of this world, agression and "speeches about what good war gave us" pushed me away. It was too much for me. All I knew about "metal gear" was just the title and the fact that these are groundbreaking games.
Now, years later, after experiencing all of them (excluding mgs4, fuck you Konami) I was finally ready. I knew the political background, understood the technological side of the world, and most important - knew who the hell is white hair ninja. His inrecidble character development, from pretty boy slipping on bird poop to most beloved in the whole ass franchise. His own redemption arc. And my redemption by truly sinking into this world.
World that catches really well what Kojima left the world on with MGS4. It have everything metal gear game needs and truly showcases its very own soul. And yes, controls at PC sucks, they're horrible. But how pleasure this game was is beyond my imagination. At the beginning I wasn't even able to cut enemie's left hand but with some time, how slowly game throws the enemies at you allowing to learn on your own is exceptional. You need to learn a lot, mostly through very challenging bosses, but after defeating one, the next gonna be much more easier. For me this experience was parrying, which I completlely skipped while fighting Wolf, and as it returned to me with magnetic field that broke my fucking nose, kicked my ass and spilled at my face. After I overcome this mechanic Sam was only the theatrical fight of 2 swordsman. Because if one thing is really well done - it's swords fights. If talking about fights and bosses (each very unique and well crafted) we need to say about songs. OH MY GOD how this game creates the vibe by using rock while fighting with these guys... It's pure art. It's incredible how whacky, serious and epic this game is able to be at the same time.
Raiden got good pay-off. It was good metal gear. Thank you.

Fnys finished Dying Light 2: Stay Human
After so long we finally were able to put our hands on continuation of really well received story about parkour and zombies surrounded by atmospheric Turkish post apocaliptic city. This story tho takes place few years later after new outbreak of the virus have turned the world upside down. Also climate changed, because now instead of not so typical country to chose to set game in we got typical, bland city of (probably) western europe.
Fighting with zombies and parkour both practicly not touched and good - the first one was standing well on technical side of the project and it was good decision to stay that way. Both parkour feels smooth and natural, and fight still is simple, bloody and hella satisying altho maybe too easy very fast after discovering the loot in the city.
Speak of the devil - the loot. Scattered in every one corner of the city, in the locations basicly copy-pasted with unlimited loot, randomly generated every fucking time. Activities that were killing the feeling of progress by how they weren't fading away after completion, repeated every single time was ruining the fun of clearing the map - so I gave up. Did some side quests, probably even most of them and I feel justified to say that they are booooooring. Even with every one of them backed with simple backstory they were lacking some depth and more interesting ideas to present.
Both side and main quests are filled with choices and unfortunetly most of them just doesn't matter and feel dull, even if they are important (which is really hard to miss) they are incredibly easy to predict what will happen in their outcome. The plot, as in the previous entry of the Dying Light duology, is really simple. And these choices are trying to make it feel even a little bit better. But it's just not enough to make it feel actually better than "alright".
If talking about some thing that were better than just "alright" we need to talk about something worse than "alright". And if said about mindless looting there is another elephant in the room - skill tree and equipment. Both very usefull at the beginning but after about 10 hours you come to realization that none of them are actually important in any way. Skills are useless and system of weapons and armor is very weak. It feels unnecessary. Very similiar case to the newer intries of Assassin's Creed franchise. Uncecessery changes that would need much more work than it was given to them.
And that's how it is with Dying Light - classical parts of the series are well preserved but was much less satisying because of live-service-bullshit.
