Very silly among us clone but a bit to overcomplicated and a bit too newgrounds more my tastes

For a game centered around a dystopian city with very little to offer its citizens except pain and rejection, VA11-HALL-A stands as one of the coziest feel good games I have played.

A fairly simply game that's main feature focuses on choosing how much booze you give any given NPC and what new dialoged they give based on how dunk they are, it has plenty of replay ability which would not be possible if these characters were not all deeply loveable, and incredibly endearing. From the kind and upbeat Alma, to the snobby detective Art to a horde of corgis, each customer brings something to latch onto. Even the most despicable characters at the start melt away into sympathetic, painfully real people by the end.

the fantastic writing and worldbuilding paired with beautiful pixel art and an OST to match, VA-11 HALL-A really stands head and shoulders above the rest.

side note: this game references YIIK a lot as it was produced by the same publishing group (I think), which adds just that extra bit of humor to the entire package.

The amount of times the visual garbage the player barfs onto the screen makes me miss a bullet is far too many.

Also the music is really weak this run around that's a real shame

Childhood's End isn't really a game I enjoyed playing. There isnt much to it, and its especially bleak and brutal to go through. However, finishing the story, seeing the end to Charlotte Wiltshire, Charles, Felix, and all the other characters who dot the house I would not be able to see the game any other way. Its truly a poignant end to this fever dream of a series.

This game was a slog, an absolute slog. The game chugs on the hardware, hitting what feels like 10 frames a second at times. Especially when bosses appear, which does not help the very jank camera and autolock on for big enemies, often it feels more of a fight against the game than the bosses. Another issue is the story, which feels so underwhelming and lame especially compared to what was promised. Impa is the most fun character and also broken as shit.

cute little indie horror game

Highly Responsive to Prayers is a pretty unfitting title considering the Ying Yang Ball you'll be relying on is anything but.

I have never been a fan of breakout games and this isn't an especially great example. Nothing like any other touhou game but it does have the most important staple, great music. If you like breakout you'll probably enjoy it much more than me. And a heads up, do the hell route first, the Makai route is designed to be played second and is much more difficult.

this game is fucking hilarious dude

If you are looking to get into Touhou. start here. A direct upgrade from the game the came before in almost every way, its hard to recommend anything else as a first game. Its music bops, its cast is just as fun as any other, and its much easier than most other games in the franchise.

That isn't a complaint at all, its breezy nature makes it much more accessible, combined with the cherry + mechanic with grants an extra hit at certain points, and a life system that can gift you up to 4 extra lives on normal mode and you're looking at a game that's just a blast to run through. Hard to really complain here, great time.

A fantastic game and an incredible jumping on point for the series. Samus controls like absolute butter and just running across the map feels incredible. The game does a wonderful job at guiding the player without feeling like its holding your hand.

My biggest issue with the game is the bosses, with the exception of the final I just did not find them fun. Samus gets some wonderfully flashy attacks that feel ripped right out of DMC game thanks to the counter system and those are great, but it just felt as if they killed the pacing for me. Also the water area sucks.

Absolute wonderful game all around and I cannot wait to see this series continue.
