My personal issues with some of my favorite games.

I love these games with all my heart and I want to see them improved incase they get a remake/updated version (though please don't make one for Persona 5 Royal LMAO). Also, I will probably re/make a review on these games someday and I will most likely be going in much deeper about them. (There will be spoilers, by the way.)

List inspired by @TimAlien , make sure to check it out. it has some really interesting takes and a lot of good stuff in general: https://www.backloggd.com/u/TimAlien/list/roasting-my-favorite-games/

My beloved...you have quite a lot of stuff wrong. Especially the weird treatement of Ann and Ryuji despite their trauma (Ann: getting groomed by Kamoshida, Ryuji getting abused by him and having an awful homelife). As well as weird romance with Kawakami...not a great look, man. The gameplay is really fun but I never felt the need to use the systems that make the game so unique such as Technical hits since most of the enemies just die so quickly and you can make some overpowered Personas (not even talking about DLC Personas here.) at around Futaba's Palace...the game doesn't feel balanced around this at ALL. This is one of main examples to why I think higher HP enemies can be useful for difficulty, them being able to take hits but also not being damage sponges as well.
Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2
Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2
My main issues with this was probably getting used to the movement, especially since I find it really hard to do the dash input without a macro...I don't know why. There's also some characters being overtuned (I know I play Johnny lmao)...sure, some of them definitely require a lot of skill such as execution and awareness but it can feel really unfair. Also I don't like the training mode in this that much...like come on man why can't I switch sides? Plus also having to do the harder character's inputs to record them so you can find counter-play to their particular strings but I think most if not all fighting games have this so I'll let it pass.

Also, I hope whoever added Danger Time is rotting away in the deepest pits of hell right now. /Sarcasm
NEO: The World Ends with You

I don't usually care about graphics but my god this game looks AWFUL in the 3D overworld...the models just...don't look good at all to me. (the artwork is gorgeous though.). Some enemies are also really tedious to fight like the Chameleon and the stupid ass Wolves. I also felt as if the time travel segments were too long for their own good...Especially the one where Shoka is about to kill Motoi..if you know, you know. I get it, it's supposed to show off how obsessive Rindo was over an internet figure but I feel like they could've cut it down and got the message across.
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII
As much as I love Cid and Barret...Yeah...they're kind of flawed. I wouldn't blame you at all if you thought Barret was nothing but a black stereotype even if I think he has more to him...and Cid...yeah, the fact his apology to his wife felt half assed just made me more sad than anything...I'm hoping Rebirth fixes this.

I also don't like most item shops being identical and after getting through the mid game...you probably won't find any use for them at all.

While I did enjoy exploring the game's map more often than not...I just kind of found myself not knowing what to do since the background wasn't really clear enough on where to go for me (I'm imagining I've made a lot of people think I'm a dumbass for saying this HAHA), ending up in me walking around like a god damn baboon.
Bloodborne
Bloodborne
Honestly, not much at all really. Micolash is a terrible boss but other than that...Farming Blood Vials was definitely a pain but eh, I didn't mind it as much as a lot of other folks (which is totally understandable.) and the fast travel system is actual cancer. Loading screens my beheated.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations
Case 3...that's it. Case 3. Though I will say that I found Tigre absolutely hilarious. I guess the OST just being worse than the first game as well but I do genuinely think that the first game's OST is perfect for Ace Attorney so I guess I can't really expect them to live up to it...even if it's disappointing.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance
The bomb defusal dragged on quite a bit for me. As well as the Metal Gear RAY fight being too annoying for my liking. Strut D was a CHORE to go through and the swimming sections were a nightmare for me but thankfully there is very few of them.

I love Vamp, I find him hilarious to the point where it could ruin some scenes for me because it's a god damn zesty vampire LMAO
Yakuza 0
Yakuza 0
Again, I find myself struggling to think of many besides the mostly easy difficulty on Normal. Gun enemies sucking actual cock to fight against and the catfight minigame...nah, not a fan of that chief. Not a particular fan of the Telephone save boxes either.
The World Ends with You: Final Remix
The World Ends with You: Final Remix
Week 2 can drag on for quite a bit to the point where it got somewhat irritating to me and FUCK tin pin slam. The food needing actual hours to go by so you can eat more again for stat increases and certain pin evolving by also waiting actual hours. look, I know what they were going for but I'm just not a fan, especially since you can cheat this by changing the system clock but I found it really tedious to go to the switch menu everytime to play around with the time so I can make Neku and his partner stuff their faces with pills of all things.

I completely understand what you're getting at with OG FF7's map. Its one of those potential issues that can arise with prerendered backgrounds. I never turn off that toggle which highlights entrances and exits with those mickey mouse gloves cuz of it.

@Stovetop Thanks for the comment! And yeah once I found out about it I never turned it off. I still find the backgrounds so charming and oddly nostalgic despite not even being born around the time the game came out haha.

I swear, I never see people give AA3's third case any crap but it's so boring. I feel like it gets off easy just because people love the rest of the game so much.

I also agree that AA1's soundtrack is peak. Its pursuit theme is still my favorite.

@electrode oh really? I thought it was pretty disliked in the ace attorney community especially seeing as it's the third case of the game which always gets shat on haha.

EXACTLY man! I think the Objection theme is perfect as well. For me the other game that has come close to being as good as AA1s soundtrack is Apollo Justice.

I pretty much only see people shit on 2-3, it feels like all the attention that 3-3 should get goes to that one instead lol

It's funny, the third case in an Ace Attorney game is almost always a low point, but Trials and Tribulations is one of the only third cases in the series I actually like, lmao

I can agree with the Metal Gear Ray fight sucking. Especially on higher difficultys that fkn drags, so close to the end too.

@Phantasm fair enough, I really like Turnabout Samurai it's just a really fun case to me that also somewhat begins Edgeworth's development. I'm not a huge fan of turnabout big top but I also kind of think it's hilarious when I think of it as just a very pessimistic view of the entertainment industry such as Max being a self absorbed dick head. The pedophilia love triangle is extremely weird though.

@NovaNiles this boss right here is pretty much the only reason I'm not doing a European Extreme Big Boss rank run in MGS2 for a while. It drags on and on and on with the timer requirement making it even worse. Plus I suck ass at aiming with the Stinger.

@G0dot Hard agree. but I dont think anybody is good at aiming with the stinger, especially having to look out for 3 targets at once. It just sucks
