Honestly one of the worst games I've ever completed. It tries so hard with its story to act like its deep and meaningful but it is simply a bad game that goes no where. All the crap with the clicker and darkness made me bored out of my mind. The protagonist is unlikeable and his monologues are so poorly written I felt like I was trapped in a highschool English class forced to read the same shitty short story over and over again. There's constant references to other writers who can actually write but they do nothing and are included just to be references. Game is very repetitive with kill exact same enemies over and over to reach location, Alan has a bullshit monologue about things that don't matter than you're off to the next location. I can't think of anything I liked from this game. I've noticed a lot of these Remedy games try to be a movie and even include real recorded segments but they aren't movies anyone would watch. The team should just transfer to creating B movies for Tubi.

Absolutely incredible in every aspect. I sometimes rewatch the opening cutscene on Youtube from time to time, I still boot up the soundtrack during my commutes, and to this day I think about some of its lines of dialogue or the overall dynamic between father and son. It's been well over a year since I've played this game and it never left me, I still resonate with it.

It is a simple story but the way its told is peak writing. After playing the previous mainline God of War games, this game sets up a perfect character arc for Kratos and somehow makes you like him even more.

The combat can be very challenging depending on the difficulty but brings great satisfaction and in my opinion surpasses the older games. Every single side quest has a story to tell that either connects to the main characters or the main story, all of them are worth completing. Every performance is on par with blockbusters and makes you feel like you're experiencing a movie.

Although I don't believe a game can be perfect, this is one of those games where I have difficulty looking for negatives. Maybe there could have been more enemy variety or the addition of some sort of challenge of the titans mode, the lack of these didn't negate my experience however. If you really don't enjoy linear story focused games this might not be for you but I would highly recommend trying it out regardless.

If you're up for a challenge this game is it. Once you get the timing of parries and controls down, it is incredibly satisfying to lock in, beating up everything that moves.

The art direction is incredible with its style, pumped up music and set pieces. I would constantly see refences to movies like Kill Bill, Oldboy, Bruce Lee films and John Wick which I very much appreciated and fit in perfectly.

I kind of just sped right through the campaign, it is very short, I think it took me a little over 3 hours on normal which I don't mind but it's one of those games that you replay over and over. You can replay missions to unlock new doors, areas, shortcuts, you can replay to get a better age, higher score, upgrades, or you can replay just to replay; these are all things I don't really care about so I was quite limited with its content but I know this can be fulfilling/entertaining for others. I could see myself going back to this and trying those out as well but a gamers gotta conquer the backlog.
