boneless gta 3

now, this game is not bad by any means. it's quite decent and there is definitely some fun to be had here. in terms of mechanics, LCS improves on 3 in every single way possible (barring crouching not being available). you actually have bikes now, the shooting isnt annoying, the cars handle normally compared to 3's cars which couldnt stay stable for a second.

however, it's a complete downgrade in every other aspect imaginable. somehow, LCS manages to have a less engaging story than 3's fairly simple and barebones story because around 80% of the cutscenes in this game are not motion captured so any sort of impact they could have had is thrown out the window (the final showdown with the main antagonist isnt motion captured lol). toni is a terrible protagonist with awkward voice acting and writing, it genuinely would've been better if he was just silent. the main antagonist is someone we've passed by once or twice in the game and he doesnt even know toni exists, gta 3's main antagonist on the other hand is someone we are familiar with the entire game so it works well. the pacing is awkward and it takes too long for anything interesting to happen. something else that makes this story less engaging is the fact toni is tied to the mafia the entire game, despite the story being more or less moving the same path as gta 3 did (working for a yakuza member, working for donald love, working for a corrupt cop, etc.), it does not work as well as 3 did because claude was a one man army, he wasnt affiliated with anyone and would do anything just to progress giving for interesting missions and ideas we dont see in LCS (i.e. sayonara salvatore and waka-gashira wipeout in 3).

3's radio is one of my personal favorites in gta because of how short the stations were and that gives almost a sense of comfort while playing the game, LCS's was also short but it felt more obnoxious than 3 despite them trying to imitate the same radio sound and a lot of songs were more annoying than nostalgic or good.

the missions were not nearly as chaotic or open ended as 3's were, i would always be excited playing 3's missions despite them getting really hard sometimes because of the chaoticness most missions provided. however this is not present here as a lot of missions rely on gimmicks such as following cars (ugh), just generally forgettable missions.

now, i have criticized this game to hell and the sensible thing to do would be to give it like a 1/5 or something, right?

despite all that i said here, i think there is still quite some fun to be had here with the game as some missions were still fun and the improved mechanics make driving around LC way more fun. i still prefer 3's more darker atmopshere in its city but it's still LC here so i had a lot of fun driving even if a lot of the songs sucked ("sing it back" fucks hard though). decent game that was a serious achievement as it was made for a handheld.

toshiko my beloved.

GO EASY ON THE YOUNG ONES MY MAN. I SAW YOU ON TV LAST NIGHT, WASN'T COOL WHAT YOU SAID. STAY OFF THAT TELEVISION SET, YOU'RE TALKING CRAZY, LOOKING CRAZY, YOUR CLOTHES LOOK CRAZY, YOU LOOK RIDICULOUS. WHAT DO YOU- WHAT DO YOU MEAN "WHAT AGE ARE WE TALKING ABOUT HERE?"?, WHAT DO YOU MEAN BUDDY? WE'RE GONNA KEEP OUR CHILDREN AWAY FROM YOU MY BROTHER ALRIGHT? STOP TOUCHING THE LITTLE ONES.

not as good as IV but it's still good
the concept itself isnt as badly executed as i thought it would be. im not sure if they updated the bikes here or if my version just has something but the bikes control way better than they do in IV and i found myself using the bikes way more than the cars. the missions are nothing special but i was enjoying myself.
the story is an absolute mess however, the pacing is all over the place and every character is way more interesting than johnny himself is, the writing has its funny moments nonetheless but that's to be expected from a gta game.
overall, while the game has a lot of flaws, there is still fun to be had here and the concept itself is interesting, the execution just could've been way better. despite this, i do not see this game being a full fledged game, it just could've been slightly longer to have more impact.

this game or rather this series is not for me at all, the writing is way too corny and i dont care about 90% of the characters especially donald and goofy. the platforming is annoying especially in atlantis where the game tries using the water controls and they just really fucking suck. the gameplay itself is actually not so bad but it's also nothing special, the camera sucks dick though. this game is clearly intended for a specific demographic and people who grew up with disney in general and im neither so this does not appeal to me whatsoever. keeping it shelved as i may continue it again someday since id like to see if 2's a better game or if it's more or less the same.

hardest smt game

change the sound settings to this so you can actually hear what's happening in game without everything being too loud
Master Volume: 10
Sound FX Volume: 7
Music Volume: 9
Dialog Volume: 10
Cinematic Volume: 8
Environment Volume: 8

fucking awesome, incredible vibes and really fun gameplay with great characters

play the yakuza restored mod or else you'll never appreciate this game the way it's meant to be

incredibly stylish game with awesome music and gameplay was fun
lost my save though so i need to play it again someday, good game though

got to the mountains iirc and stopped but so far it was way better than uncharted 1 but still not that amazing
still good though, better gameplay, better story, etc.

stopped at sector antlia, okay game but annoying dungeons and annoying gameplay
didnt care much for it, might pick it up again, might not

LOOOONG overdue for a proper playthrough (ps2 preferably) without any cheats, rating is from memory and also it's been a few years since i played this

got like a quarter in but so far it was basically yakuza 1 but better in pretty much every way

shelved because i lost my save and i saw that the guy who made the yakuza 1 restored patch is making one for 2 (it doesn't really need it as much as 1 but still), will start all over (i forgot everything anyways) after the patch is out if it ever comes out hopefully

any issues that this game may have are overshadowed by the stellar script it has and the amazing open world

cool game but gets boring after a while

you already know this was gonna be kino...

on ps2 it's actually way more challenging than you can ever think if you've only played it on PC if it's a mission involving a lot of shooting, but it's a fantastic game with a great open world, great radio, simple but fun story, open ended missions that just get more chaotic as the game goes and overall a ton of fun. highly recommend if you know how to play video games and dont get filtered by old stuff

i didnt really like this game the first few times i played it and i was originally planning to log it once i got 100% but i finished a playthrough recently so decided to just do it. For some reason it grew on me a lot this time around, perhaps it's playing on a good pc with consistent FPS and good ol console visuals mod (mod where it restores the console visuals and some other stuff from the consoles, not really major but i liked it a lot while playing), the game's unfortunately still really buggy but nothing game breaking except that helicopter bug at the end of the out of commission ending. it was still an overall very fun experience.
the driving is arguably the most important part of the game and they took a big risk with it by making the cars more "fluid" i guess and not exactly bolted to the ground like other GTA games, once you actually learn how to drive and know when to slow down at turns and slowly handbraking, the driving becomes very fun and i honestly cant imagine playing with the driving like V or any of the 3D era games after IV, the driving was too good.
the open world is probably the best out of any other GTA game, perfect atmosphere of late 00s NYC blended with NPCs that keep it alive and strangers you find around, very great
missions unfortunately were still pretty repetitive and i found myself getting bored at a lot of them but overall there were a lot of fun parts in them, V has more cinematic missions but IV with its gunplay were pretty satisfying
The story was good, nothing special and not as good as V but it was good enough, Niko is a great protagonist and characters like Roman and LJ are very well written. The endings couldve been done way better as they're 2 options, one that's really bad and you lose roman and kate (not through death but she stops contacting you) in it and the other is where you lose kate only who was introduced like a quarter in the game and wasnt really developed that well for the player to care about, and you still get the 250k regardless and roman still talks to you, so there's really no benefit to picking the deal ending. the money that makes you do the deal ending in the first place is given at the end of the revenge ending. Could've been done way better by maybe introducing a better character at the beginning and developing them alongside roman or something, but still alright, not too focused on the story since it's a rockstar game
Great game overall and despite its flaws is still a pretty fun game with a fantastic open world and very fun driving
