Temple Run 2 better >:(

(in all seriousness it's 3 stars like TR2)

A brilliant "return to formula" from a new, unexplored angle and updated graphics leading to a fantastic and genuinely scary experience, something that I hadn't felt since I started the franchise 2 years ago.
The characters, setting, simple to follow story, atmosphere and tiny little details are all captured perfectly making it one of my favourite in the series.
This isn't to say it doesn't have flaws, and the flaws with me are what everyone else says: not enough enemy variety, the ship is the weak part and the ending felt quite anti-climactic, but these only slightly hamper the experience in my books; its still a brilliant and unique entry in the series despite playing similarly to its metroidvania-esque oldest brother.
Absolutely worth a try by anyone, even non-RE fans because its extremely disconnected from the normal 6 protags and a fresh start/soft reboot, meaning anyone could hop into it and enjoy without needing the extra context.

Not a horrible game, but not one I'd jump to play again anytime soon, since the game has quite a few glaring flaws, such as: the music being incredibly forgettable - shocking for RE, extremely jarring and poor voice acting for the most part (they butchered my girl Rebecca), unbalanced enemy attack damage and health, and being weak and extremely short retellings of RE0, RE[make] and RE3 to work for 2-player, two of which being beloved entries into the franchise and RE0 being the newest "fixed camera" styled entry. Some mechanics, like the herbs are used weirdly, only healing you up when on screen instead of being stashed like any other RE game and ammo drops being for a specific gun rather than the one you equipped, negating the purpose of the weapon select screen.
What the game does well on however is its new stories like the Fall of Umbrella and the various "backstory" levels and missions, obviously being the main selling point of this game, giving extra content for the games mentioned before (and RE2) which is worth it in my opinion. The backstory missions aren't multiplayer on a first playthrough, so this game isn't too friendly to 2-players, despite making accomodations in the stories to fit them.
Overall, I'd recommend and rather play Darkside Chronicles over Umbrella, since that has better voice acting, story retellings and less infuriating and problematic areas.

A nice Lethal Company clone, but it felt a lot more boring than its spiritual predecessor, simply due to feeling far less scary, isolated and teamwork centric with even more repetitiveness than Lethal Company. The juxtaposing artstyle is very well done, and I see the vision of the developers but it really doesn't appeal to me in the same way since you don't really achieve anything besides the recordings that, as a trans woman with vocal dysphoria, I don't like listening back on the recordings, wasting the main element of the game for me.
Definitely worth a shot when (hopefully) more updates roll in giving players more to do but I would recommend playing with multiple people, since going duo or solo feels extremely boring.

A sweet and cosy game that has enjoyable NPC interactions (no matter if they berate you or speak highly of you) in a simplistic, yet adorable world with a simple, yet effective artstyle.
The whole thing is so cute, the music, the sounds, the simple day-to-day activities collecting things for the museum, making your own patterns for the shop, visiting the city and to pay off your debt are so relaxing and makes the real world seem so nice to do, which is ironically what most people would want to avoid in real life (myself included).
I didn't get super far into it before I stopped, as I'd "changed" a bit since starting, so using an old "account" felt wrong and sharing a town with the old one also felt wrong, and nor did I want to start over because of the bond I'd made from the first time, so I never picked it back up unfortunately. One day I will again.

Oh. my. god.
I was never personally into RPGs but HOLY SHIT I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT ON THIS FOR TOO LONG.
Everything, from the characters to the music to the areas to the writing and the gameplay is just absolutely impeccable, the game's theme of choice and consequences is beautifully and expertly handled, even if its subtly going on in the background while you play (and accidentally leading you to a bad ending for one mistake).
I had so many moments that took me by surprise because of how used to gaming conventions I've become used to over time, RPG or otherwise, I'm glad that I've had a completely refreshing new experience with this and I'd completely recommend for anyone to give a go.

Better than subway surfer, don't @ me

An incredible multiplayer platformer that leads to crazy outcomes every time with the sheer variety of stages, hazards, maps, tweak-able settings and more that makes it all a blast with multiple people!
Trying to make paths around or through obstacles to the end while also trying to sabotage others is always a fun time and highly under-utilised in party games like this. Well worth a try if you have 3 or more people to spare!

The wackiest, most testosterone filled game I think I've ever played (if you are trans masc I bet you'd transition in a couple sittings).
The puns are stupid, the art is perfect for the silly tone and the gameplay is explosive and fast with a wide variety of fun character abilities to use. Not something I can play for long spans of time, but is a fantastic time with friends.

Its angry birds but with a star wars flavour to it, a decent mobile game overall. They had content locked for the longest time that my young self couldn't figure out why I couldn't play it. Good in doctor's waiting rooms

I remember back when I first got my PC this game was so enticing, being one of the few games I was able to play with my friends, despite my bad GPU and low skill, and it was fun for a while with friends but oh so frustrating grinding by myself.
I'm glad my PC gave up on the game because it actually drove me to violence (on inanimate objects). The gameplay was pretty fun and the diversity of characters was unheard of for me honestly but my low skill made playing so crushing and brutal I had to stop.

A step up from its SNES counterpart, with some pretty ground breaking stuff for the time aesthetically and plays significantly better in my opinion. The 3D visuals significantly improve on awareness, meaning you won't get blocked off by hard to see flat sprites, and creates more interesting and uneven ground. The controls are still a little hard to get used to but extremely satisfying to get down right.

The game that started it all, a pretty alright Mario Kart for the time, but with improvement upon improvement with every subsequent title, this game feels quite bad to play, but in a charming way! The controls are super slippery, like you're playing on ice all the time and the CPU rubberband to hell and back but I don't think it could be any other way, otherwise the future games might have stagnated, who knows. Even if its extremely dated now, it is still worth a shot to try.

Why was such a simple videogame so good? I really can't answer that besides nostalgia honestly, it controls well as a wii game and while the platforming and exploration isn't anything too interesting, its diverse race-like sections are really fun actually, same with the 2 player vs mode where you get options like playing as an elephant. The story is pretty simple, but its a kids game, what did you expect from it? Shame the "safari" premise is pretty limited to only elephants, but again, its a kids game it gets a pass.

I can't lie, this game isn't half bad. A little undercooked perhaps, but is pretty fun, with unique baby-like party minigames and a really decked out customiser. Some aspects it could improve on are the motion controls, which can be a bit off at times, but overall controls fine.
